Reds are trailing the Giants 2-0 after 3 innings the start of the game was delayed by rain. The Reds have yet to get a hit in 3 at bats and amazingly 5 of their 9 outs so far have been strikeouts. Blake Snell struck out the side in the bottom of the first inning.

Snell was on tonight.   That was the dude the Giants paid for.

Before the complete game no-hitter tonight the longest Snell had ever pitched in a game before tonight was 7 and 2/3 innings.

Wasn't referring to distance.   I've seen Snell pitch 5 innings and be dominant.

Snell has not allowed a run in a start in over a month. In his last 4 starts, no earned runs and 4 hits.

Well before that his ERA must have over 8 then because with last night's no hitter and what you posted his record is now 1-3 on the season and his ERA is 4.29. Also even after winning 2 Cy Youngs before last night he had never in his career pitched more than 7.2 innings.

Another stat that now in 121 games the Reds have struck out 985 that is an average of over 8 per game. The four with the most is Elly with 143, Benson with 127, Candelario with 99, and Steer with 95.

His ERA after his start on June 2nd was 9.51.

Since then he has made 5 starts.

In those 5 starts, he is 4-1, has 33 innings pitched, 8 hits, 2 runs(both earned), 10 walks and 41 strikeouts.  That's a 0.55 ERA and 0.545 WHIP.
