U of L, football 2007 opponents...

Featured Replies

In a disappointing fashion, Louisville has finally secured their last opponent of 2007, and it is Murray State, they tried Indiana, every team in the ACC, one other Big Ten school, two SEC schools, etc......very disappointing. Good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it, the only way that I see them making the championship anytime soon, is if they go undefeated no matter who they play.

1 - Murray State (Thursday Aug 30th)

2 - MTSU

3 - Kentucky

4 - NC State

5 - Utah (might be flipped with MTSU)

7-12 - conference games.

At this point, that schedule (non-conference) will get your statistics looking real good. A hard dose of reality will hit somewhere in the conference schedule. Don't really see this as a schedule which commands attention and respect from football voters and prognositcators. I see it generating more negative vibes against U of L due to its weakness....

Unless UL beats UK and NCST while the 2 have breakout seasons.

BCS schools keep backing out against us, like Georgia Tech and Vandy, and it gets tough filling the holes.

I hear what your saying, but where is UK going to "breakout" to? I honestly do not see them in the SEC championship game or race (in all reality) next season. UK will be fortunate to win 7 games next season. NCST, well, the ACC is pretty weak in football, just win a couple of games against the top of the cream and your there.... I see a better chance for NCST to "breakout" of the celler.

UK will likely be ranked when Louisville plays them, if Utah can get themselves ranked, there are likely 5 ranked teams on that schedule and probably 7 bowl teams....not good whatsoever, but the best that Louisville could do....it stinks, but if Louisville goes undefeated, it won't matter.

I think it's a shame if a school wouldn't step up and play a program like Louisville. I understand that each team wants their wins, but you'd think some of those schools would have just as much to gain as UL would in the event of a win. Stronger games boost BCS ratings and bring in lots of revenue at the gates.

The #1 non-con game of the past two years has been Texas/OSU. The winner was in the title game both years.

From what I've been told, some of the mighties said they would play Louisville if Louisville came to them with no return game...Jurich does not believe in that tactic anymore...I don't know if I agree or not, but that's the case.

I don't see why or how it's a disappointment????????? I look forward to seeing two Kentucky teams get together to me it's just a win-win situation. Here's a link from Murray State!!!!!!

^ Not a knock on Murray State, I played for WKU....

But for a Top 5 team, it is not beneficial in a BCS argument.

Well, you play UK and then you play their former defensive coordinator... odd.

Like a double bonus for the offense, lol...

Seriously, UL will be nice and soft coming into Lexington with no respect for the Cats...perfect setup...

True...because with Eastern Kentucky and Temple as a setup....UK should be "battle-tested"

Now I haven't looked at last years schedule but I understand that Florida played a small team last season and it didn't seem to hurt them at all!!! They played Western Carolina late in the season.

They have the advantage of being bigger, faster and stronger.:fire:
