Blue/White - Senior Night for sure but unlikely for the Ryle scrimmage.

I am listening a bit.  To summarize from Coach Hayden Sphire, Rio is super motivated, the guys up front are big and they see to it they are eating healthy and often, they are a power running team, they are deep at WR, they are pleased with the speed of the team, Coach Zitt is doing a great job with strength, nutrition, and developing young men, they don't care what the score of the scrimmages were, and they love the way the RBs are running the ball.  It was an insightful, positive interview. 

Coach Bob Sphire said numbers were low when he got to Highlands and both and he and his son alluded to more needing to be done in the weight room.  The offensive line passes the look test and they can move and execute athletically.   I think Coach Sphire just compared himself to Henry Ford, lol.  Coach Sphire says one of his goals is his kids learning more about the game of football, that is important to him.  He was kicking himself over some of his coaching decisions last year against Cooper.  From last year to this year, the LBs were beasts last year but the LBs this year are faster and more athletic.  Some of his number twos/Frosh didn't play as well against Male as he would have liked.  But against Ryle, those same guys made dramatic improvement.  Coach Sphire is stressing teamwork at Highlands and how the football team is a platform to achieve that.  Coaching is about the whole team and the entire program and he wants the Blue/White scrimmage to be a depth development exercise.

Finally, Brennan has a big future in sports broadcasting, good job Brennan!

Here is a little more info on the Blue/White festivities on Friday. Always a fun night seeing the entire program 7th-12th perform as well as celebrating the Seniors and the new Hall of Fame inductees.

Just stating Frank Facts:

Stud of the game was #22, no one even close to what he did.

Played some TE, caught 2 really sweet receptions, 1 for TD

Played some really good QB’ing, slinging the ball all over the field, maybe 1 or 2 TD passes….
