Well in retrospect, it might have been worth the loss of money to decline the bowl invite....

Georgia with 673 total yards to 209 for Florida State. With the ACC next year and with the teams that will be in the SEC and the Big 10 it will be a good year for them and I am pretty sure they will be in the CFP next year. It really was a sad end to a remarkable season for the Seminoles.

I knew Georgia would win this but it was far worse than I expected. It’s clear that Georgia was a top four team after tonight and probably well before. 
 

Of the four selected for the playoff and Georgia, I thought Texas was the weakest looking of them all, but thought Texas would be in with beating Alabama and winning their conference. If Texas played Alabama or Georgia now I don’t believe they would beat them.

I am watching the Toledo and Wyoming game on the CW these announcers are very entertaining they remind me of the Mayfield crew. A player for Toledo just slammed a guy out of bounds for a 15 yard penalty and the color guy said and I quote "What an idiot play" lol It is good television.

It was definitely a colorful broadcast.

I don't think we can infer anything from this game. 

Georgia was better than Florida State all season and no one doubted them to win this game.  If anyone wants to use the excuse of FSU players opting out, then I think that shows that Georgia was better in the locker room as well.  They took the game serious and used it to show they belong in the CFP.

I do not know how many NFL ready guys they have, but I'm of the opinion that if they encouraged those guys to play, they did them a disservice.  I watched Will Shipley get hurt the other day for absolutely nothing on the line for Clemson.  A coach worth his salt should not let players jeopardize their future for college level goals, and mostly meaningless ones at that.  All that talk about Bowers playing, I was very happy he didn't take that risk for himself.  Georgia showed they belonged, something most of us believed anyway. That's not worth much, if anything.

If I wanted to be selfish, I'd have hoped my team would have had everyone stay in. But I also would have found it absolutely sickening if a guy like Jared Verse took a major injury in a game like this trying to prove something to people who were never going to be persuaded anyway.  FSU had an undefeated regular season and won an ACC title.  Once they were excluded from the playoff, nothing else mattered to me, personally. 

Though I admit it was hard to watch the level of beating they got.

Was anyone surprised by this result I doubt it. 

While I don’t agree with a lot of what Matt Jones says I think this is a pretty good take after Georgia/Florida State game. 
 

Even if FSU was at full strength, Georgia probably still wins comfortably.   But not by 60.   Seminoles were decimated by transfer portal, opt outs and injuries.    This was an unfair fight at the kick.

"The Seminoles played without their top two quarterbacks, top two running backs, top two receivers, starting tight end, three starting defensive linemen, two of three starting linebackers and three starting defensive backs. They were down 29 scholarship players in all."

That's essentially what I was saying as well and I still believe that to be the case.  

On positive for Florida State is that DJ Uiagalelei commits to Florida State this afternoon.
