DePaul 75 Louisville 68

Featured Replies

Cards drop to 4-5.   They have Arkansas St. and Pepperdine this week before the UK game on the 21st, then they get into ACC play.   ASU and Pepperdine are their last legit shots at a win.  Then we can officially start the who replaces Kenny Payne speculation.

DePaul is not good. They were 1-7 coming into this game with losses to Purdue Fort Wayne, Long Beach State, Northern Illinois, and San Francisco.

Bad loss and I’m unfortunately not surprised. Regardless, this is definitely a bad loss though. I believe it was clearly known before this game that Payne is not able to get it done as a head coach. I pretty much assumed this already to end last season but I thought he deserved one more. But it’s crystal clear, he’s not going to get things turned around.

It’s always nice for a head coach to have good players and Louisville doesn’t have any good players, nobody could win with this Louisville squad, just saying.

Didn’t Payne pick these players?

Yeah it is and the reason the have no good players is the fault of the coaching staff.  If this is the best they can do, it’s not good enough.

He’s only been there couple years so I would think only some of those players were his choice, others were probably already there.

Not all of them.

So you don’t know what you’re talking about then, clearly.

How many of his current players did he select to be on this team?

All of them except JJ Traynor, Aidan McCool and Hercy Miller

I thought a Coach would evaluate his team and if the current players can't get it done, they have to go.  This is all 100% on Coach.

With a second year coach, that’s very difficult to do, go ahead and throw him under the bus, but he needs more time.

With today's landscape of college basketball, that's 100% on him.

Plenty of first and second year coaches completely overhaul their whole roster because of the transfer portal. For someone who never blames the players when UK loses and it's always on the coach, this is quite a turn around in mentality.
