It's already been announced the LeBeau is staying...

Tomlin is a HUGE 4-3 guy Lebeau is a HUGE 3-4 guy. I figured Tomlin would stick to the 4-3 even the the Steelers haven't run it since Mean Joe Green was in the house. If they made that switch it would set them back a couple of years IMO. I think it was a great move by him to put his pride aside and keep Lebeau.

Switching to a 4-3 would require a major retooling of the Steeler defense. That's not gonna happen — especially not one season removed from a SB title.

I bet it was part of the deal that he keeps Lebeau, because that front office knows that would be a big change for this team. This Tomlin guy must be a real good interviewer, I just hope he is just as good on game day. :thumb:

I heard he was brought in as part of the rule that minorities had to get an interview and he blew their socks off! You guys might be right that keeping Lebeu was part of the deal. I just couldn't see them totally revamping their defensive scheme. It takes a lot of security on the his part to give up his philosophy and trust in Lebeu.

I know the demands of the head coaching job in the pros are getting to be too much for the 60-ish coaches that use to dominate the NFL ranks. However, I think that 34 is a bit too young for an NFL head coaching job. Maybe, he'll end up being the greatest coach of all time, I don't know. However, If you had a billion dollar company (and that's what each franchise is roughly worth) would you hire a 34 year old to helm the ship? I wouldn't...

I would wish him all the best, but since he is coaching for the Steelers, I wish him nothing but 4-12 seasons...

On Mike and Mike this morning Tomlin said he'd be staying with the 3-4. Currently the Steelers do not have the personnel to run a 4-3.

Cowher was 34 when hired. That seemed to work pretty well...

I want to see what new coaches he brings in. Cowher had a lot of good drafts, which he had help from a really good scouting department. If the guy was that impressive, well welcome to the burg Mr. Tomlin... :thumb:

Dave Shula was was 32...

Dave Shula was was 32...

Yes, but you have to remember that it was Mike Brown — in the conversation of worst executive ever — hiring Shula. Not the Rooney family, who preside over the best front office in football, and one of the best front offices in all of sports. I trust the Rooneys' judgement implicitly when it comes to management decisions. Can't say the same about Mike Brown, who I feel is about as competent as the current President of the US.

The Bengals QB coach is more than likely headed to the Steelers, Ouch!

Wrong. They are looking at Ken Anderson...
