Boyle County owned all 48 minutes of football tonight in Lexington. The Rebels had speed, size, talent, and depth. Their stars showed up as advertised. Covington Catholic had a great season for 1

First off congrats to Boyle County. But in my opinion this had to be the most boring game I witnessed.  I totally understand running the football and being successful is crucial, but when it’s not, throw the dang ball.

I think they tried.  They threw the ball 17 times, were sacked 4 times and the QB ran with it some because he did not have time to set up.  It was about half the offense.

It was mentioned this morning  in our hotel that this was the first time a running clock had been put on Covington Catholic? Anyone know for sure if this is correct?

That is an interesting question and yesterday was a legit running clock if there ever was one.

Where do we put Boyle 23 in terms of best teams in KY over last 20 years?

2011 Trinity will always be the one to beat. To take your question in a slightly different direction, I think this team is the best Boyle team ever, until next year.

Per calpreps.com matchup tool:

2011 Trinity 35 - 2023 Boyle Co. 21

In the playoffs or ever? If there was a running clock in 07 or 08 Highlands blanked them 40-0 & 61-0 in the years.
