Jeimer Candelario, Reds reach 3-year, $45M deal, sources say

Thought I'd paste this here before we all got scolded.  Not sure why they make this deal unless they have a backdoor plan to add pitching by moving one of the youngsters.  India perhaps?

I think this ensures that India will definitely be dealt. Maybe another young infielder as well but not the top ones.

Looks like Reds will have the 2nd pick in the draft.

They are making some big changes at GABP on the third base line.

They have essentially torn down a bunch of the walls and concession stands on the third base line and instead of having individual concession stands like they've had, its going to be a more open concept with self-service portals. Picture high school cafeteria maybe, where you essentially have 6-7 places in one, grab your food and go to the self-service place to pay. The idea there is to really help with the long lines down that third baseline from Skyline, LaRosa's, Ice Cream and etc. Total congestion on big games, which I guess they're thinking/hoping they'll have a few.

Taft Ale House won't have their spot on the third base line anymore. It will now be Bad Tom Smith Brewing.

I wasn't really sure what to make of this. Could the Reds not find any suitors to deal him to?

I don't think they wanted to trade him. But this deal helps them trade him this year if they decide to move him. The Reds are hedging their young players. India is good in the clubhouse and the Reds will see how things play out. India going to play outfield some.
