@BEChargers with a prophetic "Fern Creek can be dangerous" comment in the prediction thread.

Fern Creek has a pretty good coaching staff and always have some dudes.  What they usually lack is some depth.  But on any given night they have a chance to put up a fight and usually don't give up easily.

Simon Kenton just couldn't stop anyone on defense all season long.  Their season ended similar to how it went all year.

Simon Kenton usually has a pretty decent defense. I was extremely disappointed in their defense this year. And the worst part was, it didn't seem to get any better during the season. Never really improved.

Since when?

I did not expect this.

But not shocked. What is SK's record against Louisville teams?  Maybe we should have all seen it coming.

Congrats FC!

In The Scoreboard Era ('98 - present) their record vs. Louisville schools is very good (9-2) against teams not named Trinity and St. Xavier (0-7).

All are playoff games except CAL ~

(*) Playoff Loss(es)

CAL 2-0 [Regular Season]

Ballard 1-0

Butler 2-1 *

Fern Creek 0-1 *

Jeffersontown 1-0

Male 1-0

Manual 1-0

Southern 1-0

St. Xavier 0-1 *

Trinity 0-6 *

? CalPreps didn't consider the Fern Creek loss an upset (in Red). Upset wins (in Blue).

The win moves the Tigers up to #11 in their 6A ranking. SK drops to #13.

For the last 4 years, SK averages giving up about 30 pts. per game each year.  That might get you a winning regular season & even win a playoff game or two, but eventually, you have to play defense to advance in the playoffs.

The problem on defense is coaching. I was told they only practice in pads one day a week. Another thing I noticed was last night at halftime, players were in the locker room and most coaches where standing outside. They should have been inside coaching the kids up. Last week I watched their JV game and noticed no coaches where helping the kids warm up before the game. I was told when they practice, the varsity practices while everyone else just stands there and watches. Then you have the CovCath game when the coaches said do what you want during halftime. Pretty embarrassing! FC last night during warm-ups where doing tackling drills. Pioneers were outcoached last night. This just my opinion it is what it is.

One other thing. Turner lasted about 5 plays. Not sure why they played him knowing he was already injured. When we down you could tell he was in severe pain.

FC stats

Passmore 216 yards 3 tds

Malone 52 yards rsuhing 1 td

Defense had 2 interceptions

SK stats

Lee 138 yards passing and 78 yards rushing 3 tds.

Oglesby 72 rushing yards 1 td
