Muddy game ball probably slipped right out of his hands.

It was dry enough for him to catch it.

Say it till you’re blue in the face, the “mud” wasn’t a factor in this game. Both teams played on the same field and scored over 90 points.

This is from the 3rd quarter. Does it look like the players are covered in mud, or that the field is muddy?

Not in high school. You get the 15 yards, but if you needed say 17, it wouldn't be a first down.

The mud was a factor seen Sk players slipping several times.

The mud is why SK lost?

Rule 2 reads in part:

2. No disparaging, taunting, or boastful comments--especially between opponents trying to intimidate each other. This includes, name calling or personal attacks toward any member, username, team, or school. Additionally this includes a pattern of posts that inflames or incites other posters (i.e. trolling or gaslighting). Also, keeping in mind the youth of our student athletes, excessive "bashing" of high school athletes is prohibited. Do not comment on the manner in which another member has posted, or any violations you find in their posts. Such public remarks will be considered a violation under this rule.

Fern Creek travels to Independence next Friday.

Ok I’m so use to PI 15 yds being enough for a first down but friend of mine just told me. PI was good for half the distance and replay of 4th down. Still I think on film you’ll find Jennings might of held him before the ball got to them. SK is a good team probably the best we’ve faced all season(not knocking JC) they match up really good on both sides of the ball. This was the second game this season we gave up over 400yds passing(George Washington from WV was the other).

Congrats to Ashland. Nice win. SK with two tough losses in a row.

I agree and I will add that was a fun game to watch.

This was mentioned on the update thread. He is what was said on it. "That’s was PI and auto first down. The official missed that and not the way the game should’ve finished. SK screwed on that."

To clarify the rule in high school. The only defensive penalty that results in an automatic first down is roughing either of the following: the quarterback, the punter, or the kicker snapper or holder.

High School it is only a 15 yard penalty coaches should always tell their players if it 3rd down and more than 15 yards away and they get beat just grad the guy and get the 15 yard penalty and not give up the touchdown.

On the play in the SK and Ashland game SK had the ball 4th and goal from the 17 and Ashland got the PI call they moved it half the distance to the 8.5 yard line and replayed 4th down the officials assessed the rule the correct way.

Mud?? There was no mud at all. There was a light misty rain for a few hours before the game which could’ve made the field a little slick. But mud? No.

I seen several SK players covered in mud also several players slipping. Even the announcer was talking about a SK player covered in mud. Tonight was the only game SK played on grass sounds odd saying that.

Crazy play Ashland broke a long run and 6"5 294 pound Aba Selm caught up with him 30 yards down field to help make the tackle. Unreal how fast he is.

I guess it depends on the definition of mud…As always though, whether dirt, wet grass, or mud, it was the same for both teams.

I’ll watch the game tomorrow on livestream, but from what I saw at the stadium, it was at best, damp.

They both played on the same field.  Just saying.
