Playing Ineligible Players

Featured Replies

Western Hills as of yesterday was the second team this year to play ineligible players and have to forfeit multiple games. They've since forfeited weeks 1 and 2. North Hardin was the other instance in which they had to forfeit 7 games.

1. Think this will be more of a problem now with how much kids are transferring?

2. Why do coaches let these kids dress out? That seems like it would keep this from accidentally happening.

This was the 3rd. Eminence had an ineligible player as well this year. Definitely interesting.

I haven't kept up with any of this.  Are these 3 players ineligiable bc of Transfer status?

Or is it something else?

With the amount of transfers taking place it was bound to happen, I'm surprised it's not more.

The unfortunate part of this is that teams have lost some RPI points due to the forfeits that were originally wins.

Franklin County went from the #1 seed in rpi to the 3 with 2 wins being vacated.

I also find it hard that no one knew these kids were ruled ineligible.

This shouldn't happen... it's not Franklin Co's fault someone else broke the rules

I’d assume the full blame should be on the AD? Then the coaches also have to go along with it.

Knowing the details of the  hills situation, it’s pretty blatant disregard for the rules, possibly a lack of knowing the rules could have caused it.. As far as statewide. I think you get a lot of lazy AD’s in the summer. Football sometimes has a hard time getting help from admin over the break.

That's the KHSAA and they're absolutely broken system for you.  It would be incredibly easy simply to calculate based on their original status, but I'm sure they won't.

There is no excuse for this, coaches and AD's know based on the rules. If you start punishing coaches instead of kids wouldn't be any issues.
