Hugh Class A showdown in Campbellsville Friday Night… #3 Campbellsville will host #4 KCD with a District Championship on the Line… Who You Got?

This is going to be a good matchup!!!

Weird enough, I don’t think this game is within 2 TDs. I think Campbellsville wins this game 28-7 or 28-14. KCD is a solid team, but I think Campbellsville is at least two touchdowns better.

Now, if Campbellsville turns the ball over 2-3 times I think they could lose this game, but if they play a clean game, they win going away.

I like Campbellsville by 2 touchdowns. I think it will be kind of low scoring too.

I will also take the Eagles.  I like to be conservative on predictions, so I'll say they win by 10.

Common opponents leaves me to believe this game won’t be close but I think this is more about matchups! Both teams have played Bethlehem but Campbellsville definitely handled that matchup a lot better.

I think Campbellsville Wins by two TD’s.

Campbellsville - 35

KCD - 21

Kind of surprised this game hasn’t been talked about more than it has so far. For whatever reason, KCD is talked about between little and none on here. From the little I knew about them from watching them in the playoffs last year, they had a pretty good team. If not much or any different from last season, I’d say Campbellsville should win without much trouble. Good luck to both teams.

KCD deserves some love—just like Cville. Both teams are very solid and have a good chance to make a run. I think the narrative that resonates with most people is that neither are close to Raceland or Pikeville. Many people see 1A as a two horse race. However, both the Rams and the Panthers are beatable. From what I've seen, KCD can beat either of those teams if they catch them on the right night. On the other hand, I don't think Campbellsville needs the right night... they might just have the horsepower to hang with 'em.

Second biggest game of the regular season in 1A.

I thought Somerset might be the stumbling block preventing this from being a battle of unbeatens, but Campbellsville's ground game saw them through.

I doubt there's a more consistent offense in the state than what the Eagles possess. They've scored between 34-36 points in seven straight games. And the defense has been lights out, Somerset aside. Daniel Forbis and Keondre Weathers are a couple of studs anchoring that side of the ball. They're just studs, period.

KCD has grown into a perennial top five 1A program over the last several years, but this looks like Campbellsville's year. They look the part.

The best case scenario here for 1A is a convincing Campbellsville win, thrusting the Eagles into the role of third wheel. No one wants to be a third wheel, but it's a role Campbellsville would happily embrace. Same for KCD if they can pull this out.

I'm with you here. This game should reveal a great deal about Campbellsville. If they're a legitimate threat to Pikeville and Raceland, they should win handily this week. That's what I'm looking for... not just if they win, but the nature of it.

I agree about how big this game is. I think everyone knows that Campbellsville is a threat, that’s not been as much question for me so far. It will be most interesting to see how KCD looks. I do believe that if Campbellsville wins without much/any trouble that this could further solidify how good they are. Or if KCD wins or keeps it close, it may speak more to them too. Either way, this game definitely has my interest.

Forbis was also out the Somerset game, and he’s the heart of that defense at Linebacker. I believe that explains part of giving up more points than any other game this year, and they still won that game. Did I also mention he is the leading rusher for them, Averaging around 10 yards a carry.

With all that said, I still think KCD is a very good team, and could pull this one out if Campbellsville turns the ball over or has a bad night overall.

Otherwise, I just don’t think KCD will be able to score enough to win this game unless those things happen.

Curious as to why you think either Campbellsville or KCD could play with Raceland or Pikeville? I’m not trying to throw shade, I’m genuinely interested. I haven’t seen KCD or Campbellsville play in person.
