Exactly Guru! Students in KY can go to any school they want - public or private.

Add in that there aren't enough private schools in KY to make it an option anyway.

Even if there were enough, I am opposed. Let everyone compete together.

You could have a open enrollment division that would be privates plus schools with open enrollments so if you are a public school that will take students from anywhere then would be in same division as privates. I'm for current set up but wouldn't be opposed to a private/ open enrollment division. As a private school person doesn't matter to me because will always find people to play regardless.

The wrong question is being asked. The question is can this "unbeatable" LCA team win a title? I mean, we hear this every year, don't we?

I definitely have to say what Beechwood has done through the air thus far is amazing.

If Beechwood ever decides to figure it out on the defensive side of the ball, I think they win it all. LCA can put up points but also give up huge amounts as well. Beechwood to me is exactly the same.

My message to LCA - you better get it done this year because Beechwood is young and almost every key player will be back next year. QB Clay Hayden, RB Flaherty, top 3 WR's et al are all underclassmen. That is the #1 QB in 2A and 4 top 10 receivers in 2A- all underclassmen. Add players next year from a very good freshman team. This year is LCA's best chance. Better get it done this year.

Couldn't agree more. I also heard Owensboro Catholic has a ton returning. I believe their QB is only a Jr?

QB Atwell is a JR. He will lose his top two receivers, Carrico and Rhinerson. Looks like the Aces might need to work in some new OL/DL. 37 of 50 on the roster are slated to return - bodes well for next season.

Isn't every public school except a few open enrollment?

Just looked into it and apparently was law passed in 2022 making them open enrollment with exception of capacity requirements and also may have to pay tuition if out of district so scrap my private/ open enrollment division. Lol.
