BEECHWOOD IS NOT PLAYING MAYFIELD, LCA OR CATHOLIC IN ROUND 3. THEY ARE NOT.

Where did I ever say that? I obviously said that IF OCath gets the #1 spot in the RPI then Mayfield and LCA will play in the third round and the winner will play Beechwood in the final four while OCath plays pushovers all the way til state. That’s how it works.

I’m almost sure you are wrong. In the third round the state is still split in half with LCA, OCath and Mayfield on the same side of the state. If OCath finishes #1 in RPI then they will get to play th

I like Time's version better, us playing OC in round 3.

Could be true. It's very messed up.

I agree. If LCA has one loss with the schedule they played and a computer system can’t figure out they should be ranked #1 then it is seriously flawed.

That's very true. They have played a murderous schedule.

Also how you end up with injured players.

OC has played a similar schedule as Mayfield, it might slightly harder but they will not even come close to playing a team like PT.

Catholic has a ton of 5 and 6A.  No losses.  I would be shocked if they are not #1 in RPI at season end.  LCA 1 loss.  Maybe the WL portion of the RPI may help them get #1 though. It will be interesting to see. #1 in the West and overall is going to be huge.

Catholic will not sleep walk to the Finals. They get either LCA or Mayfield in Round 3 or LCA and Mayfield in Round 4. Basically whoever they don't play in Round 3 they are playing in Round 4.

They should have homefield advantage til Round 4. If they play Mayfield in Round 3 then they will be HOME.

Remember LCA, CATHOLIC, and MAYFIELD are in districts 1-4.

Beechwood is in Districts 5-8.

So neither LCA, Catholic, or Mayfield will see Beechwood until the State Finals. Hope this helps everyone.

That’s incorrect - if OCath has the best RPI.

If OCath finishes #1 in RPI then they will get to play the worst team left on the west side of the state and LCA and Mayfield would play each other. Then in the final four it is ranked 1-4 statewide. OCath would be number 1 and get the worst team left and Beechwood would be matched up with the winner of the LCA-Mayfield game. Like Brown said, if OCath ends up with the highest RPI at the end of season they will have a cakewalk to the state championship while LCA and Mayfield would have to run the gauntlet to win state.

Yes this is exactly right.

I’m no RPI expert but I’ll be shocked if OC isn’t #1 in the RPI. Even if LCA was undefeated I’m sure OC would still have the highest RPI

This year and next year will be OC’s best shot in 6 class system era, to win state.

ALSO, Has the RPI come out yet? NOPE. My guess is 1. LCA 2. OCath 3. Beechwood 4. Mayfield.

So.... In Round 3 Mayfield will travel to Catholic. LCA will get District 3 winner whoever comes out.

Good!

I think:

1 Owensboro Catholic

2  Beechwood

3 LCA

4 Mayfield

So far OC has played 3 5A and 1 6A. Another 6A this week and then North Hardin to end the year. So 6 games are 5A/6A.

But In all fairness to these teams, I thinks it shows the talent in 2a from the top 4.  No matter who plays who, they are going to be great games and that’s what you want.
