New Turf 2023

Featured Replies

Ashland will get turf and new lighting done after this season.

If my numbers are correct, I'm showing 110 schools with natural grass and 111 schools with turf (I'm not counting Newport Catholic, Covington Holy Cross, or WEB DuBois because they don't have their own stadium). This would be the first year in state history where there are more turf fields than grass.

The turf and new stands is coming along at Bullitt East.  They renovated the old home stands on the right-hand side of the photos and they are now the visitor's stands.  The old visitor stands were torn down and rebuilt as the new home stands.  It will be weird flipping sidelines.  A new field house with weight room, coaches offices, new locker rooms, etc. is phase two and construction is supposed to start next year, at least that's my understanding.

Looks awesome!

I get that a good natural grass field is a lot of work, but I think its very unfortunate that kids end up playing a majority of their games on turf surfaces. They're simply much more dangerous.

Ran across this. Good news for Woodford Co.

Turf is the only way to go. Schools can get people to take the gate. Run the concession stand. Let alone mark a grass field
