I think everyone needs to pump the brakes on expectations for the Reds. Sure the 12 game win streak was awesome but this team isn't competing for anything in 2023. They are just a bit ahead of schedul

Yeah, they're starting a streak, but of the wrong kind.

Hoping the Reds take the series but I don't trust Weaver on the mound. Baltimore ML is looking enticing. I'm no Pete Rose, I have no issue betting against the Reds. Basically hedging my feelings haha!

I had the Reds last night, but Elly not getting a hit cost me.

From Mo Egger on the Reds pre game show:

Luke Weaver's ERA in his last 5 starts is over 9. The Reds have won all five of those games. In the start before those 5 games, he pitched 6  shut out innings against the Cardinals and the Reds lost.

The sooner that Luke Weaver finds his way out of the rotation, the better. They've gotten lucky to win despite him.

Statistically, he has been better than Ashcraft and Lodolo. That is a statement about this current Reds pitching staff.

Walks, walks, walks ...

If you don't believe in your stuff enough to throw a strike, you shouldn't be pitching in MLB.

Duarte throws one strike to the three batters he faced. Fortunately that one strike was a double play ground ball. The other two batters were four pitch walks and none of the pitches were even borderline enough to make a hitter think about swinging.

Woof.

All the more reason for everyone to pump the brakes and forget the idea of being buyers this year at the trade deadline. I want a playoff contender and a team to compete for a WS more than anyone I am friends with because of my vending, but I just don't think 2023 is it and fans need to temper the expectations that they didn't have on June 1st.

At the same time, please keep showing up to GABP lol

I watched the last three innings and it was very exciting.

Halfway thru the season tonight (81 games in) and the Reds are in first place. I honestly don't think any of us expected this to even be a possibility.

I came very close to turning it off in the bottom of the 10th. Watching Cruz pitch was killing me as he threw ball after ball. I seriously considered flipping the channel and just reading in the paper whether they held on to win. Fortunately the Orioles kept swinging at Cruz's forkball in the dirt.

Watching this team hit is pure fun.

Watching this team pitch is pure torture.

Lead the division in scoring by a wide margin.  Lead the division in runs allowed by a lightyear.
