I know of at least one game where the Tomcat student section was vastly

out-spirited this season. I thought that Greenup County's was at least

equal to Ashland's (though I've only seen each of them once, and both

were in rivalry games, so perhaps it is not the best indicator). I hear that

East Carter's student section is also pretty good. But this debate is very

subjective and with the exception of a few schools whose student

sections are top of the line every time their teams play and have been good

consistently for a few years now, (I. E. CovCath) student section "rankings"

vary greatly from night to night. With all this being said, every indication

showed that Ashland's student section was very good tonight.

And so, if the Tomcat nation has improved their student section from

the last time I saw them, it should make for a fun game on Senior Night

at Anderson gymnasium with two of the best teams, and two of the better

student sections, in the 16th region. :thumb:

From what I have seen they have quite a repertoire of inappropriate language and insulting comments to individual players on the floor. But I guess all student sections do without a school administrator right there in front of them.

CCH by far. NCC second.

Beechwood has big ones come out on occasion in big games.

Which game was that in??

So were they VASTLY outspirited or Equal to??

Two different games there.

The sad part is there was an administrator right beside them. However hollow threats and warning after warning with no action taken, makes them seem more like the boy that cried wolf. No one takes them seriously.

Pendleton County has a great student section.

How many times have you seen them, once?

Hey, thats a good point! That may just be the best game I have ever seen. I still stick with over all CovCath by far but best ever NewCath 00' That's the year they won All A state and the 9th region.

You didn't see CovCath down at Rupp three years ago. They had the other teams fans doing their cheers. I know that you are partial to 2000, but you had to have seen CovCath's command over Rupp during their run to the Semi's to say that you guys were better. I saw both, sorry, going with CovCath.

Yeah the Ashland student section has really stepped up lately but dont seem to cheer to much when the other team goes on a run.

Yes. And considering that it was against CovCath, not even a rival team, and hearing that type of language, I can only guess that it is much worse against teams that they really care about.

I did see CovCath's fans at Rupp a few years ago and they were great. It was a Friday night game in the semi's and usually for the friday night games there's about 18,000 fans there. They had the entire Rupp Arena doing the wave for about 5 minutes and when the wave was finally over, everyone there gave the CovCath student section a standing ovation. And every year since then, they always show student sections on the 4 big screens and they always show CovCath's from that year. I'd have to say CovCath has the best student section hands down!!

You know youre going to take a verbal beat down at the jungle when you play the Jags. Even though we have no seniors left haha.
