Larry Miller, SK's coach from the 1981 title made the game tonight.

Isn’t that the same Larry Miller who coached at Meade County in the 80’s (and whose son played at Marquette)?

I don't know about the son, but was at Meade County after SK.

I thought so.  Meade was in the district I played in (17th District/5th Region, although at some point they moved to the 3rd Region).  Always thought that was a weird path - going from SK to Meade.  Especially since he won a title at SK.  There’s a decent chance he didn’t care what I thought about that.  Probably.

I got there at 6:30 and couldn’t find a place to sit. Had to stand the entire game!

I thought Grant could’ve done a better job attacking the 2-3 zone. They didn’t settle for bad long range shots, but struggled to make shots down low.  They just don’t have anybody who can penetrate the middle and hit 10-15’ pull up jumpers.

Chris Paul ran out of eligibility a while back.

Great game by both teams!  Simon’s guard played really well.  The match up zone caused a lot of problems for Grant!  Big boy down low not only blocked a lot of shots but also made it hard all game long.  Honestly Grant just does not match up well against them.  Kudos to SK!  Both teams battled until the end!  Can’t wait to watch them in the 8th region tourney.

Agree with Grants struggle to match up with them. I feel Grant has the tools to be more successful in Henry County. I’d love to see these teams go a couple rounds and get to meet again on a neutral floor. I think we would see a different outcome.

Physical game.  Great game from Bilton.

One of my "8th Region Most Underrated" team members.   Doesn't get nearly enough credit.

When is the draw for the regional?  And when does it start?

Called this one.
