A tie in the 9th... dang I was looking forward to reading some good arguments this morning lol. With that being said, they are both very well deserving of the honor.

Congrats to all players!

? We needed a winner for forum content!  The big one that stands out to me is that the Hamilton kid from Campbell co. won a POY from their coaches vote, and there's a tie in this one and he's not on it!  Unfamiliar with this region, but must be very deep with SR. players.

I noticed that as well. I believe that I read somewhere that Henry from Mason Co. was the schools all-time leading scorer. Can someone verify?
Also with Morton, you know what you are getting. He was voted the MVP of the state tournament last year when they won it all.

Perhaps everyone got together and figured out how to make it a tie!

I think it is great, they are both one of the top players in the state.

However.... it makes my Friday a lot more boring.

Then maybe you should lay out your own argument for both players.

Actually, a case could be built for all three of these players.

Seems like it would be unusual to have that many ties - Regions 9, 10 and 11.  Maybe not, I don't recall.

He is not.  That would be Chris Lofton.  Henry is 6th, just behind current Mason County Assistant Coach Deron Feldhaus.

As a person who follows the 9th, both players represent the 9th in a big way.  Congratulations to both players.

Who is Sawyer Thompson? From Wolfe Co, haven’t heard his name all year.

I had to look him up as well, averaged 21 per game, so certainly a fine player.

I LOVE the sophomore from Breathitt, Sperry, he is only going to get better and better.

Yes, Sperry will be a player!

The 5th Region choice is interesting.  I only remembered LaRue County from the KOTB in December, they upset someone (can't recall now) and had a kid who really played well.  I just looked, his name is Daniel Allen.  Averaged 22 a game.  Childress is the 3rd leading scorer.  Now, I applaud looking beyond mere points to make these kinds of selections - so many times, it's only that and nothing more.  And presumably this kid is really good all the way around.  But I believe he is also the coach's kid, which adds some intrigue.
