I understand what you’re saying, but my one recommendation for the 31st would be to only require 1 district-seeding game against each team. With 5 other teams in the district and having to play them twice, you’re looking at 10 games a year.

I'm amazed at the number of people who want to rearrange the furniture in someone else's house. Balanced/even numbers of teams in Districts within a Region, or an even number of teams from Region to Region has never, ever, been "a thing."

There are more than a few three team districts in the state. Start filling in the nooks and crannies, starting out west, and you'll have teams in the 5th playing games in the Central Time Zone and some long, late drives home.

If you're in another Region and you're in a play-in District game, you've earned that spot. Is anybody really going to feel better if Trimble County goes back to the 29th and loses it's first post season game to an Oldham team by 50, or has a Benji hung on them? 

Coach Simpson just reached the 500 win milestone at South Oldham. If Trimble wasn't locked into mandated games, he'd have 27 fewer - not going to make it into the "Record Book." Let that sink in.

What if someone were to suggest moving Scott County and Great Crossing into the 10th? Trinity Christian is in Fayette County, a couple of miles from Tates Creek - they're playing in the 12th. Balance the 11th to 10th right?

Some people lost their minds when Woodford was able to move to the 8th after Douglass opened. Did anybody raise a peep when Estill got out of the 11th?

Is there some competitive balance rule that insists that all areas of the state be exactly the same? No. The KHSAA approved Jenkins moving back to the 14th, leaving the 15th with 14 teams. Who should we "make" move there?

The KHSAA has made it clear that 16 Region sports will have the same makeup not just for basketball, but also for - volleyball, soccer, baseball, and softball. I wonder how many admins and coaches are going to be in favor of a massive overhaul?

Someone on this board has volunteered to show the folks in Lexington how to do it. I eagerly await that draft proposal being presented on BGP.

✓ In this one case, it's just one District out of 64. It's just Trimble County. How important is this?

I have a feeling this is a dig at me for a post on another thread. I can’t speak for everyone, but I think what upsets most people about the alignment is how arbitrary it is. 3 different Kenton County schools in 3 different regions. Woodford County moving to the 8th when their superintendent I believe was on the board. I could go on but I won’t. I did say I would do the realignment for them lol I do have a rough draft of Regions 8-11 that I will post since I’m a 9th region guy. I realize that it’s never going to be perfect, but I think we need to do everything we can to eliminate 3 team districts in basketball. I realize in other sports it’s inevitable but that’s neither here nor there.

Everyone has made valid points. There are many stakeholders, some as passionate about their teams and areas as I am. I respect that, and admit to, for what it's worth, being a closet Trimble County fan.

Simon Kenton played Grant and Walton-Verona at home and are the 1 seed. Grant played Simon Kenton and Walton-Verona at home last and was the 1 seed.                          
I’m sensing a trend here. No way district seeding should be decided by home court advantage in the regular season. All districts should play each other twice.

I can agree with this, however you need to get rid of a 6-team district if doing so.

(I'm wondering if you realize just how countercultural this is, to not only meet criticism with respect, but to admit that perhaps, just perhaps, your own words were not the very epitome of truth?  I think there are laws against doing this on the internet.  But I applaud you nonetheless.)
