Union Raiders have had multiple teams that had a running clock on the Spartans every time they played.

Spartans are a great organization but their days of dominating that league are long behind them.

The Union Raiders are doing great work.

Times have changed, back when I played for the Fort Mitchell Spartans we played the best Boone County had to offer every year and we beat them.  Good games but we beat them.

Cash needs to do what he thinks is best for him. Hopefully he is happy and gets what he is looking for. I wish him the best whether it is Beechwood, Cov Cath or somewhere else.

Raiders do a heck of a job at MS and freshmen levels too. What’s the disconnect with varsity?

The varsity has been solid and the talent gets divided up.

Because Engler wastes the most talent year in and year out in NKY.

I played in NKYFL and recall the same thing. I suspect population changes have evened the playing field. Better #’s usually leads to better teams.

Who is Beechwood’s best college football player in the past 10 years? With all of their parades and accomplishments they must have an army of successful college players, correct?

They have a player from 2011 class that was an AP D3 All American. Also believe someone from 2012 that was NAIA All American or All Conference at one point.

One of the reasons I admire the historical and current success Beechwood has had is that they have done it without a ton of "D1" talent. Attempting to call them out for lack of success at the next level is beyond absurd. A lot happens between high school ball and college ball. Are you really trying to judge a programs success by the success of players at the next level?

I agree KP.  I think it makes what Beechwood has done even more impressive.

Didn't Beechwood have the #1 ranked kid in the state last year now at Wake Forrest. Hergott is at EKU. Slusher the Olineman is at Tennessee State to name a few.

That’s not what I was implying.

Conch made a statement saying Ryle’s coaches waste more talent than any team in NKY. But yet, they’ve put over 50 kids into college football programs the past 10 years. That doesn’t strike me as wasting talent.

The fact that Ryle has put over 50 kids into college programs is awesome! However, one could argue, that by putting all those kids in college football programs, that further proves @TheConch's  point that Ryle wastes the most talent in NKY.

Uhh, sir, did you just read what you wrote? You quite literally just proved my point.

BINGO!

You could certainly make that point, but you might change your mind if take in consideration their strength of schedule.

This year, Ryle is playing 5 teams in the top 25 of Calpreps (4 of which are out of district games). Ryle is ranked #37. That means they’re decent underdogs in 5 of their games. That’s pretty normal for Ryle.

Other teams in NKY choose to schedule differently. Take Beechwood as an example. They’re most likely favorites in all but one (maybe 2) games. I’d say heavy favorites in all but 2 games. That’s pretty normal for Beechwood.

Ryle’s “talent” is good enough to win 9-10 games vs Beechwood’s schedule for sure. But does that help prepare them vs top 6A comp? Does playing better comp increase their kids exposure and possibly receive more college scholarship offers?

Generally speaking, I think Ryle has very good NKY talent but average 6A talent.

We’re comparing apples and oranges.
