Friday is Senior Night at Cov Cath. The Colonels are obviously going to be playing with a chip on their shoulders after their first loss to Highlands since 2015. They also will still be working on healing up, in their final game of district competition. Cov Cath beat Cooper 14-7, beat Boone County 43-0, and lost 32-21 to Highlands on Friday to put them at 2-1 in the district.

Conner will be showing up in Park Hills looking to stop a two game skid, after losing 41-7 to Cooper two weeks ago, and being blanked 55-0 by Highlands the week before. The Cougars' 17-14 win over Boone County puts them at 1-2 in the district headed into the game on Friday.

All signs point towards a convincing win by Cov Cath to finish second in the district, and put Conner at second-last in the district.

What predictions do you have for the game on Friday night?

Conner is Terrible. Cov with a running clock middle of the 2nd quarter.

Conner is terrible?? Harsh. But, I agree. 

I Saw Pitzer on crutches this week along with a lot of other guys in slings and walking boots, so I assume you will see Roberts at QB and a host of other names not normally playing on Friday night.   I still think CCH gets the win but maybe not by as big of a margin as some are thinking.

Not harsh, and IMO Dave Trosper isn’t a good coach. Man has been there for 10+ years and hasn’t won a 3rd round playoff game.

Was that a common occurrence prior to Trosper's arrival?  Honest question, but I don't remember Conner being a deep playoff team every year at any time.

They won 3A in 1983 and I think they were runner up one other year but am going to need some help on that one.  However you cut it, they were very good then.

So back when there were 2 schools in Boone County, they had a good run, heck a good year or two, maybe three.  From 1998 on, from what I could find on KHSAA's website, Trosper has taken the team the furthest of any coach in the last 30-40 years.  Hopefully the original post I quoted was in jest.

I remember them having a couple of other good teams in the 90s but nothing too memorable. 

I will say Melvin Miles was one heck of a football player.

They've had some good teams this millennium as well.  They've also lost some very close playoff games to some very good programs in the past 10 years, that's what I noticed at least.  Hopefully Conner can bounce back from a down season.
