I made a committ about 2 posts, I didnt lump nothing or anybody just another example of making something look different than what it is. Or to get in a dig then call it a joke. I think my radar is set the same place most other peoples are in the region. Good luck to ya.

No I didnt take offense to the 100 pt post....anything is possible.....My point was NOBODY ever mentions the other four players for fairview, and I think...I may be wrong but isnt this a team sport????? Fairview is a talented young team that is going to get better every game and they have an exceptional leader in Barker,great coaches,and they are at home. They scouted the Russell game and Im sure they will be prepared with an excellent game plan. Plus Boyd is coming off an emoitional win against Russell and you have to guard against a letdown, that is why I agree with Tiny Boyd would be lucky to win by 7. We respect Fairview. But that being said you must think Rose Hill is a far superior team than Boyd because they can survive a Barker on nite but Boyd cannot, and if thats your view on things your intitled to it, then comes another post that Boyd will score a 100pts. another jab from another Rose Hill supporter. Will Boyd win the region this year probably not, will they be the door mat of the region definetly not, do you guys ever slow down long enough to realize why your school is not respected more within the region? Give it and you will get it.

To clear the air, let me say that I was not being negative toward Boyd County but was merely complimenting the ability of Alex Barker. As has been previously stated, Barker is a particular favorite of people at Rose Hill as are all of our kids who transferred. I know that our approach is contrary to the attitude of most of our neighbors toward transfers but, then, that is how it happens to be.

 

Boyd County is a legitimate contender in this area. They are capable of beating anyone.

 

Fairview does, indeed, have other players in addition to Barker. Another of my personal favorites is Cameron Hall. Cameron has a fine future and I wish for him every success.

 

I don't know anyone at Boyd County but I will agree with Jay Bilas that this year they are a team rather than a sideshow. I wish them well but I will be rooting for Barker, Hall, and Fairview.

I noticed in the preview by the Independent that Boyd had 11 players and 9 were seniors. Is this accurate?

I will take a guess at their starting lineup:

Mayhew - Junior

Stephens - Junior

Billy Blanton - Senior

Branham - Senior

Selby - Junior

 

Only 2 Seniors on starting lineup.

 

Not sure of the rest of the team.

Yes,it is true that there are 9 Seniors & 2 Juniors. However they rotate several players from JV into the game. For instance, Ryan Crisp-Junior(who has done a fine job coming off the bench). A correction to the previous message-is that Chase Stephens is a Senior. Brad Blanton who is also a Senior has done an excellent job defensively also coming off the bench. Its fun watching a team play well together. Go Boyd County!!!!

If Barker is on as he was against Rose Hill, Fairview will win. If he is off as he was against Ashland, BC will win.

TOPCAT, I was there and you are absolutely right. Matt was the difference in the game. His offense was outstanding but his defense was equal to it.

Thats a very errogant statement. I personally like what the young royals are doing this year and pull for them when they arent playing Boyd. I've never been one to guarantee things, but I can promise you this...The studs at Rose Hill will eventually graduate and with a school that small its going to be tough to continually produce great teams and tough to beat any decently sized school "this next year and so on and so on....." I dont recall Rose Hill beating many of us public schools too often before OJ and co. moved in, what makes you think the trend of great players will continue on for years to come ?
