Yes it has!

It has in all of the states I went to last season. I talked to players, fans and school people.

No phone, no tickets.

Hey 4 quarters, want to go to the game tonight?

No sorry, I can’t, I don’t have a phone.

Oh, no worries. I’ll just get you a ticket!

Hasn't hurt it at the school I'm associated with. Sales are actually increased.

I'm guessing you're one of the few.

I think each school will be unique, and for those experiencing a drop, I would guess there are multiple reasons why that might be happening. Price and streaming are probably only a few pieces to a much larger puzzle. Personally I'd rather buy a ticket through an app than have to wait in line and have cash on hand (which I NEVER carry cash).

While we may be one of the few seeing an increase, ticket sales were already declining before covid brought all this about. We live a much more high speed life that pulls in many different directions and the days of going to a random Wednesday night basketball game or Friday football game to support the home town team are over. Most who attend have some kind of connection. Kids playing, etc. More and more students are working evenings, etc. too.

Yep. Things evolve over time, and people develop new interests. Prices, ticketing methods, etc likely do have an impact on attendance. Covid definitely changed lots of people's habits, especially in entertainment.

Many more games available online with streaming than there were just a few years ago has added to a decline.  But since the price was $5 literally 40 years ago, I don't have much of an issue with $8-10 tix.
