Excellent win for Boyd County. Lions continue to improve and will be a factor come tournament time.

Kudos to KyGirl and Tiny in their prediction in the other thread. They pretty much nailed it. Boyd won the battle on the glass that some predicted could never happen. I would like to see Mr. Selby in a football uniform come next fall!!

I never said that Russell wasn't the top team in the region. All I was saying is that they will be beaten afew more times right here locally.

You have to give BC all of the credit for never giving up when they very easily could have. The final score was the the first lead of the game for the lions since early in the first quarter.

You've got to hit free throws.

This was a great game to watch. Vanhoose was on fire from 3.......just couldnt hit the free throws when it mattered most. Great ball player though. I would go to him in the clutch evereytime.:thumb:

 

I agree but sounds like he may be the guy to foul on this team so I would just foul Vanhoose each time at the end of the game. 1-7 Mason Co & 1-6 last night !

Based on those two games, I would agree with you. Based on his shooting stroke, taken over his short lifetime, I would still rather find someone else to put on the line when it's crunch time.

 

Like every player, he has strengths and weaknesses. I think it would be safe to say that shooting isn't one of his weaknesses. I do realize that there is a world of difference between shooting from the floor and shooting from the foul line, but I think basing a game strategy on a handful of games is (statistically speaking) insignificant.

I listened to most of this game, seems like both teams shot the ball very well from the floor and not so well from the foul line. I agree that Vanhoose might be the person to foul on Russell's team. I wonder what percentage he is shooting from the line on the year ? His shot is too pretty to miss that many from the charity stripe, it must be in his head because he has great mechanics.

Russell is still the top team in the region. Boyd County, along with four or five others, are in the second tier. Keep in mind that the regional tournament will be played at Morehead and not at Summit. No home court advantages for anyone.

I do not agree with scooterbob, Russell is not the No.1 team in region. Let's see if Cubster puts on his maroon colored glasses and finds a way to keep them No. 1
