Media were made to sign waivers at St. X tonight.

Frivolous lawsuit. If your on sideline, there is risk of getting hit. You would think a sports reporter would know that.

  • This is floating around Facebook, I assume we could apply it to Franklin County now:

  • I was at this game. This is 100% a money grab. If he felt like there were too many people on the sidelines, he could have removed himself.

Whatever happened I have no respect for Fred Cowgill and I never will.

I hope the payoff was worth it because it came at a price.  NO ONE will respect his work/opinion/anything going forward.  Good luck Fred!

So withdrew but still pending??

The withdrawal is filed, but the withdrawal has to be approved by the court. Could have been filed late in the day and the judge hasn't seen it, or the judge might be out of the office right now, etc.

So glad the judge through this lawsuit out.  Also glad Trinity didn’t settle. That’s what most of these lawsuits count on is a settlement.  More need to fight these and they will stop.

I was left a little bit perplexed by the WDRB article I read about the case's dismissal. It said the case "was dismissed through agreement of the parties," and then went on to say, "No settlement was paid, according to the dismissal."

So did they agree that Cowgill's allegations were bogus? Did they agree that Cowgill was only allowed in the stands at Trinity from now on? Did they agree for Trinity to provide Cowgill with physical rehabilitation through their training department?

Good question.  Hopefully Trinity didn’t do anything. And if anything they might think about counter suing for the bad publicity.
