Dayton High School New Stadium

Drove by today around 4pm. It is going to be such a nice place. Not as tight as Davis field but the fans will be close. I love the field right in the middle of the neighborhood.

I sure hope not. Call me nostalgic, but I like those old stadiums. Dayton's stands and field has its problems, much like Newport is running into now, but I would hate to see such a stadium fall into r

I realize money is certainly a factor to consider, but I'd love to see them take the two stanchions for the entry gate and/or the ticket sale booth and build them out of field stone as an homage to th

  • I am extremely happy for the Dayton program, AND happy for those worked in the old press box at Davis Field.  I will not miss the 63 steep steps leading up to the top of the facility.  The steps had r

The turf is down and has been for a little while now, looks really good in my opinion. At the rate everything has been done so far, it should be good to go come August.

Looks awesome.   This is great for the community.

Hopefully it's not a big deal or they still need to do final touches on the turf, but the end zone photo looks lumpy.  Like there are high and low spots.

My question for really old Greendevils…….”Did you really waterlog  Davis field every year before we played you?  Or was the story it was leaching from an adjacent landfill?  Would like to put these rumors to rest and Buddy Ditto and Steve Siereveld only smile when I ask.

Here are a few practice pictures on the field. It’s going to feel weird going into it for the scrimmage against Holy Cross on Friday, but I look forward to it.

See you Friday night!

The new stadium is really nice. They did an awesome job with everything. Where it's situated in the city with the houses on the Ohio side looking down on them, just a great job by everyone involved and happy for the current and future players.

I agree, everything they have done is very nice. There’s not a thing to say bad about it. And I got to see it driving across the river on Columbia Parkway, which was pretty cool.

How is the parking situation near the new stadium?

???

Same as the old stadium but slightly improved I say. You can park by St Bernard and the middle school or on the street. Park a mile away and walk down the Avenue and it’ll be an awesome environment. Small Town USA hit a home run with this stadium I promise.

I ask that because you nailed my concern.  St. Bernard is having their festival that night.

If you have trouble parking near St. Bernard or the old Dayton Eagles, I would park on 4th or 3rd Streets if you can.

I feel like bad parking is part of the experience.  I've been to several SEC road games for Kentucky and I always have to park miles away and walk through the campus.  ?
