Duke 78 Texas Tech 73 (NCAA Sweet 16)

Final from San Francisco. Coach K amazing picks up his 100th NCAA tournament win. They will take on Arkansas on Sat.

Great to watch K make in game adjustments that lead to a win. Very refreshing to see and that’s why he is the GOAT.

Duke’s execution down the stretch in the last two games has been near perfect. I believe Saturday will be their toughest remaining test.

You talk about closing out a game? The last two by Duke have been clinics. I know they didn't miss many in the last few minutes.

I went to bed fully expecting a Duke win, even though they were down by 4 or 5 or whatever it was.  They have the most talent in the Tournament by far.  They just haven't always played up to their ability.

The Arkansas matchup will be interesting.

Don't believe they missed a shot the last 8 minutes. Somehow Texas Tech stayed in the game, but in the end talent wins.

A few tweaks on defense (went zone), but Tech was still scoring at a solid clip. On offense the big adjustment was to get the ball into Roach's hands and get out of the way. Duke was running a lot of pro sets because they have the most pros of anyone in the tournament.

Duke has four guys projected to be drafted in the top 20. Arkansas has one guy projected in the upper third of the second round. On paper it is a mismatch, but Muss can coach with the best of them. I feel like something has clicked with Duke and they are starting to believe since the field is opening up in their favor. Notae will have to go off.

I agree.

On the flip side, Duke has now been in battles late against Michigan State and Texas Tech. While good teams, they are not in Duke's stratosphere as far as talent goes. It is not as if Duke is coming out and beating the hell out of these teams.

Changing to zone in 2nd half definitely slowed down Tech’s offense and scoring, nice adjustment and Roach took over late with isolated driving to the cup.

If anything I felt it just disrupted Tech's flow. They had a couple of unforced turnovers that came at crucial times.

The Texas Tech head coach looks like a loan shark from 1977.

To be fair Michigan State shot 50% from 3 that game and Texas Tech is a very good team. TTU's offense could improve but their half court defense was unbelievable.

With that being said completely agree on the talent. Talent makes plays when it matters and that's what Duke has done down the stretch of those last two games. Banchero is always solid but when he is aggressive he is nearly unstoppable. Roach is playing his best basketball at the right time. Griffin, Moore, and Williams have all stepped up when they needed to as well through defense, free throws, or big shots.

When Duke guards moderately well and avoids the scoring droughts they are one of the best teams in the country.

Peaking at the right time.

The zone definitely was key, I’m with you on the TT coach, feel like I’ve seen him somewhere earlier in life!! Lol
