North Oldham 63 Woodford County 53 (8th Region Finals)

Featured Replies

Kind of this ugly Woodford would win this one. North Oldham going to Rupp with 12 losses .

Woodford had a great season, only lose 2 of the top 8 players. They were a year  ahead of what some expected. Plenty of D1 talent on the team. They may not be in Basketball but they are still D1 athletes.

Most incredible first half I've seen in a long, LONG time.

North Oldham led 45-19 at the half, shooting 17 of 24 from the floor, 6 of 10 beyond the arc, 4 of 4 at the line.

1 first half turnover.

And the Mustangs dominated the glass in the first half.

Woodford with a credible second half rally, but they really had little chance of coming back all the way after North buried them with that first half.

Speaking of returnees....North returns all five starters, and 7 of their top 8 players next year.

Who are they and what sport?

This is a typo autocorrect , lol. Ugly was supposed to say “thought”. Too late to edit now. Maybe a moderator can.

I was wondering where that was supposed to be going....LOL!

Not all that unusual for a team to head to Rupp with double-digit losses......I've seen teams with .500 records at Rupp.

Not sure this team's record is truly indicative of who they are....they played the third-toughest schedule in the 8th Region; their opponents had a combined W-L pct. of over .590.    They played the best, including a tour of duty in the King of the Bluegrass.....   Wouldn't surprise me at all to see this North team in the final four.....

They will have to play every game at the pace they played the first half tonight to reach the final four, could happen.

Good season, but how were they ahead when they brought a kid in like Twombly and Mccrear?  Nonetheless, great fall and winter sport seasons in football and basketball.

Someone told me that Jasper Johnson, the Woodford freshman, is the son of Dennis Johnson, former defensive end at UK (and if I recall right, maybe the number 1 rated high school player in the country his senior year?).  Suffice to say, Jasper isn’t built like a defensive end!

Another year in which the 29th District runner-up proceeds to win the 8th Region Tournament. It seems like that has happened a lot.

I have been told he is the son of the Woodford County coach, I know different names.

LOL signals "win now" mentality.
