Final the Cats played a great 2nd half until the last 2 minutes. However, I like this team a lot. They are several Kentucky teams that would not have won this game tonight. Should be a good one Saturday at Arkansas.

Beating Alabama and LSU without your starting PG or SG?! Impressive.

Love what Hopkins did tonight and love even more how his teammates reacted. 

Definitely got needlessly worrisome there at the end, but another strong short handed win for the Cats. I’m not optimistic for Saturday though. 

Played well in the second half until the collapse at the end.  Big game for Hopkins and Oscar was Oscar.

I have been very critical of Hopkins being used at the 3 spot this year. So I wanted to make sure I got on here before I went to sleep, to say he played a great game tonight! His play was probably the biggest reason they won tonight! 
 

Obviously not having their two top pgs makes it harder. However, it is not the worst  thing for UK to have struggled against the Press at the end. Now they know that is an area they really will need to focus on, since teams obviously will try to press more after seeing the end tonight.

There are many U.K. teams that would not have won the last two games without their two starting guards. 
 

Very impressive what Cal has done the last two games beating two tournament teams whole missing two starting guards. 

An honest look at game film from tonight should have Brooks worried about losing minutes to Hopkins.

Brooks has played really well over the last month until tonight. While this is the first game Hopkins has done really anything at all this year. So let’s not get to carried away with that. Plus once the guards are back, Toppin is the one  that is rotating with Brooks at the 4.

While the guards are out hurt, your right he possibly could lose a minute or two now to Hopkins only if he is struggling. However, most likely Hopkins will have to go in and play well right away like tonight, or else he will be back to a minute or two and pulled right back out. Which hopefully we do see this version of Hopkins when he is in, because until tonight he has shown really nothing promising all year. 
 

Once the guards are back, then there really shouldn’t be any reason Hopkins is in. Since Toppin and Brooks would be back to rotating at the 4.

Yup, exactly where I was with tonight as well. I know folks hate to admit it but that guy on the sidelines seems to be doing a good job of managing and COACHING this team. Just to be clear, when I say manage I mostly mean injuries.

Hopefully the guys were able to see things from the bench. I noticed Wheeler and Washington sottong by each other.  It's ultimately their team and Oscar.  The rest are... at time excellent 4 and 5's.

Tshiebwe now has the most rebounds in the modern era and did so in 28 games.  He passes Julius Randle and Anthony Davis, who both set their marks in 40 games.  Unreal.

The thing about this team that I like is what Jimmy Dykes says about three times every broadcast, they can beat you multiple ways.  Sometimes its making 10+ threes and scoring 90 points.  Other times like last night its playing a game in the 60's and only making 2 threes.  They just seem to find a way.

Agree, this team is fun to watch, fights and shows a lot of resolve, LOVE watching Oscar play!!  Was beginning to wonder last night if Cal was taking his TO’s  home with him!!??
