I value your opinion, but after being wrapped up and held, I think he was just pushing him away from him.

IF it was a swing, it was certainly provoked, and in the heat of battle.

I can take still frames from all kinds of things in everyday life to incriminate people that are completely innocent. Wish we could see video of it to determine a swing or not, but I also understand these two still frames are likely the best angle to the action anyone may have and it's probably like a $4500 fee to KHSAA to post a post-season video on a message board lol.

To steal a term I learned from @theguruthe "throw down" is a nothing burger for me. It was aggressive and should have definitely been called, player told it was going to stop there, etc. 

The swing was definitely a swing. Juwan Howard proved it doesn't have to be a closed fist to cause issues. There was no doubt there that was an aggressive move because he was irritated the other player had held onto him the way he did.

The bolded literally doesn't matter, but I can appreciate your opinion on whether you think it was a swing or not. You no doubt know the kid more than me. Pushing him away in the heat of battle is an issue and should be T'd up. Refs are lucky this one didn't get out of hand and need to do a better job keeping those kinds of things under control.

No doubt the heat of battle.  Provoked is also certainly possible.  I still see that as a swing instead of just a push.

Did both of these videos capture the latter part of the game?

On the "swing" or "push" play, what ended up being called?

I see a kid naturally reacting to being held like, "Get off of me!" The only real issue that I see here is the obvious overbearing hold. 

The throw down seemed to be an extended flop. The "swing" probably should have been a T.

On the swing they called foul on Scott player instead of jump ball, I guess cause the Brossart player wrapped around the ball and chicken winged the Scott players arm. 

And on the push play, The focus was on Brossart being close to a 5 second call and the coach getting a time out issued right at 4-5 seconds, the back line ref saw the play and let it happen.

From my vantage point of watching it 4 times the day after, instead of in the moment...definite foul on #23 in white & I can also see an intentional being called on him.  And I definitely "T" up #3 in green.

I can't say it was definitely a flop, but that was the first thought that came to my mind when I saw that play.  Although the #3 did at least try to push him out of the way.

Yeah I thought the defender was doing a good job trying to get up in him. But then tried to sell the foul/flop when he tried to get away from him. 

One less local draw for the 10th Region tournament.   

I fiured this one would be a barnburner.
