I'm not sure it's really one less, only two of the local teams can make it, but I agree on the barnburner.

Scott was awarded one point for the rear naked choke hold but in basketball Brossart just shot the 1 and 1.

I don't necessarily think it was a hard foul, it looked worse than it was, especially looking at the two pics posted. You see fouls like this often where the a big man reaches over a smaller guy trying to create a jump ball and gets in an awkward position.

The refs made the right call on this with just a common foul on Scott. It was a typical, physical tournament game with end of season/careers on the line and they didn't make a possible game changing call on an emotional play that fron start to finish lasted 3 or 4 seconds. And this response is from a Scott parent for those wondering.

Thank you for being objective.  I hate criticizing officials because I know how difficult it is.  There is certainly a "let them play" philosophy during tournament time - right or wrong.  That being said, there were numerous no calls last night.  None more blatant than the Brossart player being knocked down while dribbling early in the 2nd half.  Letting them play on after a bump is fine but once a player goes to the ground a foul has to be called.  In this situation they allowed the player to pass while on the floor and they played on.  

 

Regarding the headlock and swing.  If anyone watched the Ohio State / Indiana game a similar play occurred.  The Indiana player reached between the legs of the OSU player to try and get a jump ball.  The OSU player disengaged and swung his arm.  College refs have the advantage of replay and a double technical was called plus a foul on the reach.  

I could see a similar call be made in the game last night.... or you recognize it's tournament time and let them play.

I agree about the no calls, but I don't think they favored one team or the other. Certainly didn't sway the outcome of the game. One thing I've said for years about officiating is just be consistent, allow the same style of play at both ends of the floor and for the entire game. I think they did that last night.

You must have not seen the game as I did, once again the same Brossart player #3 gets the steel and then pushes off and the Scott player flies out of bounds, right in front of ref, who let them play on. But the Brossart player then trips and then travels as he gets up, but is awarded a TO, I see no passing of the ball.  Should have been offensive push off by #3.

You are correct on the TO instead of the pass.  The rest of it... we will agree to disagree.  I was sitting on the opposite side as you.  This does prove my point that they let them play.  When someone goes to the floor you generally get a call, either foul or travel.  

First off, no dog in the fight and couldn't care less about the 10th Region. With that being said, IMO the rebound/tie up is definitely a foul on white, nothing more. Didn't find it overly aggressive and definitely no malice involved, just a hard foul. The backhand swing was definitely unwarranted, as #3 had white's right arm pinned and he could not get it disengaged from play. Backhand swing should have resulted in a T, but don't see an ejection was warranted. As for the other two plays on video, they are as mentioned "nothingburgers". Tough hard nosed plays, no foul on #3 in either instance.
