Kentucky will be 12-1 entering a BCS game....their only loss will be to Georgia at Georgia, they will win the SEC East, beat LSU in the SEC Championship game and be ranked in the Top 5. They could be playing for the national championship, but will definitely be in a BCS bowl game.

 

They will be the storyline of the decade - they will shock the football world and may even host a Saturday of ESPN Game Day from Commonwealth Stadium - probably on the Saturday they play Florida.

Wow, where does that leave your beloved Cats?!?! Ole Miss and LSU are bitter rivals. The phrase "throw out the record book" comes to mind. Its sort of like the UK/UT rivalry, except between Ole Miss and LSU both teams actually pull an upset once in a while. Florida, yes they are better than LSU. They proved it on the field and deserve to be where they are. Auburn was a tough loss to a pretty good Auburn team. Comparing a 7-3 bloodbath to a 49-0 blowout is a leap but you are correct, I have to hear it from my Auburn buddies all year like they heard it from me last season. I can't make a claim to be better than them, we had a chance to prove it and failed. But to your greater point about an LSU/UK match-up at this time? If LSU was playing UK in the Sugar Bowl. No I wouldn't be shocked of another blowout. Not saying it would happen that way but it is sure possible. Maybe even probable.

I think Kentucky finishes 9-3 or 8-4. I think UK will beat UofL if Brohm and Bush leave. Tennessee, IMO, is in a decline and UK, as of right now, is on the rise so I take them currently. Georgia is on a decline to, IMO, so I take the W against them.

 

I've noticed that some people have UK pulling off the upset against LSU. Let me tell you........ not gonna happen. LSU will probably be ranked #1 next year or maybe #2 or #3.

 

Kentucky makes a bowl for two straight years and will hopefully have two bowl wins in a row

7 wins looks like a stretch next year. Anyone expecting a win at UGA is delirious....they will be frothing at the mouth to deliver a massive beat-down when the Cats come a-calling.

 

Stealing a win at either USC or Arkansas would help a LOT.

 

The UL game, as many have mentioned, should be a little more balanced than years past.

If we have everyone back and no massive injury problem, I think UK will get 7 wins.

 

The gimmes - EKU, Temple, Florida Atlantic, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt (I realize all of these aren't sure victories, but they are games that UK should win, and must win)

 

The unwinnable games - LSU, Florida

 

That leaves Louisville, @ Arkansas, @ South Carolina, @ Georgia, and Tennessee. I think UK can and will win 2 of those 5. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I don't think so.

 

 

Louisville - UK definitely will be an underdog, but I think they have a reasonable chance to pull an upset here. The homefield will be an advantage for UK, along with the fact that they will be a much more confident team going into this game than in the past.

 

@ Arkansas - I realize the Hogs had a wonderful year this year, but I'm not sold that they're that good and I don't think they will be next year. I definitely see this as another game that UK will have a reasonable shot at winning.

 

@ South Carolina - We're probably an underdog again in this one because it's on the road, we can't seem to beat Spurrier, and we haven't really had a lot of success against them even before Spurrier. That said, they are far from an unbeatable team and this is another game that we should be competitive in which means we have a decent chance to win.

 

@ Georgia - As I expect Arkansas to come back to the pack, I expect Georgia to be much improved. I think they'll be a much better team next year and I see this one being a long shot. Considering that we beat them this year and it's on the road, they'll probably be more pumped for this game than they normally are. I included it on the list just in case they don't make the improvements I'm expecting.

 

Tennessee - It's hard to tell what you're going to get from Tennessee, but I'm not a big fan of Fulmer as a coach. I don't think he's that great, so I don't expect Tennessee to be world beaters. They have plenty of talent, but I don't expect they'll play up to it as they usually don't. With us having our best team back in some time and the game being at home, this could truly be our best chance to beat the Vols. I think we will. That's my upset special a year in advance...I think next year is the year we snap the drought against Tennessee. In the past our "best chance" to beat Tennessee always depended more on the fact that Tennessee was underachieving or playing bad or whatever...next year it should be the fact that we are going to have a good returning team with a lot of experience and a bowl win to build on.

 

So there you have it...I see UK falling in the range of 6-6 to 8-4 next year, so I'm going with 7-5. I think we'll get 2 of those 5 games I listed. I'm picking Tennessee and either South Carolina or Arkansas, but it could be different. In any case, I think we'll get 2 of them.

This thread is getting pretty repetitive to read so let me sum it up. We've got the people who are on a Music City high prediciting 9 wins, people who are optimistic and see 7/8 wins as very feasible (myself included), the people predicting .500 at best, and then LSURock who thinks the Cats would be a 10 point dog against Trinity at Commonwealth. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but if UK goes 5-7 next year, I'll pay for any and all's BGP membership who have predicted so.

With the crop of WR's coming out, I don't think he'll get news from the advisory board that he likes. I can't imagine he'd go in the first round, and I can't imagine he'd leave early without that assurance.

Im with you on this one.. Keenan needs that extra year and I think it will come to his attention soon.
