How many times did Mayfield lose the week before they were supposed to play Beechwood? Those teams got destroyed by Beechwood so if they had not lost it wouldn’t be 8-1 in Mayfield’s favor.

I think it’s safe to say from 09 to 19 Mayfield would have beaten BW ever time they played.

I’m not talking about those years now am I? I’m talking about 1996,1997, 1999 and 2007 and 2008. Beechwood would have won all of those games played. 

1998 wound have been a toss up since Middlesboro beat both teams.

If we use your math and give 1998 to Mayfield it would be 9 to 6 in favor of Mayfield which would not be nearly as bad.  It is all fun to think about but Mayfield still owns Beechwood.

It would be an interesting case study.  Off the top of my head I would say Mayfield wins more than they lose. 

I think they would have won all of them between 09  and 19.

 

And this year without Hergott, it's a toss up maybe you'd be favored some but the game would have been more competitive. And thats without Galbreath, We would have been just fine with Starks. You can say the pandemic won you a State title. LCA would have mowed over everybody.

Thats true.

Lets just talk about 22. Mayfield is 8 - 1 against Beechwood. Mayfield hasn't played Beechwood when they've had weak teams and visa versa.

It will be interesting to see what Murray looks like next year.  The new head coach Bowling has a handful of state titles in Tennessee and upset Mayfield this year.  

Just curious how many of these Mayfield kids reclassified or repeated. I thought that the QB was a Sophmore last year too and it fills like Rogers has been there forever.

The sophomore class had several I'm told. Rogers played as freshman and sophomore so it seems he's been there forever plus he reclassified. He's been on the field about 3 games in 2 years and I think it's iffy about his Senior season.  He's a good player. Cartwright reclassified also.

Beechwood was pretty damn good in 2017 and 2018.  As was Mayfield. Would’ve been interesting.

Yeah no doubt about it they do unless Beechwood goes on a streak against them. But without a shadow of a doubt these 2 are the best small school teams in the state.
