January 1, 200719 yr Author LockJaw is going to announce he is quitting on Tuesday. I have an inside source who lives in Pitt who says his wife left him and went to NC with the kids. Tired of the cheating, etc. I think he will quit and head to NC to save his marriage. good for him. He wont be in Pittsburgh though so Marvin isnt going anywhere. I am not opposed to asking Brian Simmons to retire gracefully because he is done and send Justin Smith and Steinbach packing. Justin has had a great year but its a contract year and he wont sustain the same level of play for the next 3 yrs. Steinback is too much money. We can fill his slot. Whitworth and Andrews have stepped in and played well. Tory James should have taken his equipment off yesterday after letting Santonio Holmes run right by him. He wont be back. All I hope for is that Odell gets his life in order and they give him another chance because that LB corp needs him bad. Good post outside of Odell. He's done here...

All the bashers were jumping up and down yesterday when he took that one TD to the house. Same with Odell, you can bet if they do take him back everyone will be jumping on the bandwagon. I am a basher if you will, but cheer for these guys. I blame the coaching staff as much as the players.No they can't babysit them, but they are essentially not being given a reason to stop acting the way they do.
January 1, 200719 yr I wouldn't worry about Marvin leaving. The Steelers will make a hard push for former Steeler Jeff Fisher, who has a much better track record than Marvin. A lot of people in Nashville are worried about the Titans being able to resign Fisher, whose contract is up. The Titans can exercise an option for 2007 and renegotiate a long term deal with him. They haven't as of yet.

I think Cowher Power will retire, but his wife did not leave him. They bought a house together in North Carolina, which he has made several trips to during the season. I think the grind of being head coach for 15 straight seasons has taken it's toll on him.

January 2, 200719 yr USA Today said Friday they were expected to exercise the option by the end of the weekend, but I haven't seen where they have.
