I think that makes sense. I also feel that somewhat reflects the Ryle/Dixie games the past few seasons though. Those two teams have become a hotly contested rivalry.

That is correct CWB. 

To me, it comes down to if Hummel and Agee are going to be able to generate 2-3 explosive plays to put points on the board or lead to points if we are going to be able to win. Unfortunately, it’s not looking like the passing game is going to be able to do this, so it is going to be up to those 2 guys to be playmakers. 

Defensively, we have played well pretty much all season and I expect that to continue this week. The more physical team wins on Friday and because I’m a homer I think we pull it out. Regardless, I’m expecting a very competitive one score game.

To some extent, though I think another post covered it well that given the rivalry it may not be the best comparator. Additionally, that was by far the worst the CCH offense has looked all year, most of it self inflicted inability to execute, so I do think it is an aberration. The offense against most other games hasn't been dynamic by any stretch but has been been much better than that particular night.

I also think back to the beginning of the year as well, CCH up by two TD's on Lex Cath only to blow it due to some special teams miscues and a fluke fumble as another comparison. Still, I could see this going either way, I'm sure the CCH D will show up, tbd on what the offense can produce against a tough defense. 

I feel like Ryle is, and should be, the favorite here.  If the Colonels manage to win it should be categorized as a mild upset, so the poll results don't surprise me. 

I don't know how anyone could feel confident in the offense of CovCath being able to score multiple TD's against a quality defense, be it Ryle or a team in the 5A playoffs.  Heck, maybe I'm crazy (narrator:  he is), but if CovCath and Cooper met again tomorrow I'd give a very slight nod to the Jaguars...but I'm not sure why, besides they just literally gave that game away a month ago on multiple occasions.

 It's clearly not the same CCH team as years past, but they did just win all their district games.

I didn't realize CovCath hung district football banners, but congrats.  There is one or two good defenses in their district, Cooper and Highlands, and those weren't pretty.  Ryle is on another level, as are the Top 3 or 4 teams in the state in 5A, but I'm guessing you knew what I meant and just wanted to go off, so have at it.

No district banners, but I'll make sure to not take you at your word going forward. Had you said CCH won't likely make it far in the playoffs, like past the 3rd round or so, I would absolutely agree with you!

Though I still don't know what makes Ryle at a different level, I mean they would have lost to Dixie had their kicker not skipped the game for a upcoming soccer match and lost to Lex Cath, same as CCH. They are a really good team, but it's not like they are world beaters.
