I have been critical of them, but besides the play Dixie scored on, the CCH special teams was much improved.

All in all, good win, but CCH has a lot to work on with the passing game!

After last year and the good offensive numbers what has happened to the Dixie offense? They returned nearly everyone, have been protecting the QB this season, and the kids they returned obviously didn’t slouch in the weight room. It is almost criminal they cannot sustain drives with the athletes they have. The defense has done its job until it can’t after being on the field for so long. Anyone else that follows Dixie have a clue what it is? What are they missing? Is the QB just not hitting his mark? Is it play calling? Dixie is in for a long couple weeks if they cannot figure this out.

The size some of these Dixie kids have put on since last year is amazing to see.

I think that Dixie just picked the wrong day/team to have a bad game. Lloyd and Conner you can make up for them (this season). But against the better teams, you have to be almost perfect. I think you are on to something here, I don't think Dixie has played a complete game yet. If they do "figure it out" they will be scary. However, they haven't yet and it will be hard to pick them in their next contest against Highlands.

I thought Landers had a very solid game tonight, but I'll admit, I was a little more impressed by him last year. That's coming from someone who only saw him actually play in Week 1 last year and was just seeing game stats after that, but I felt like he didn't have his best game tonight.

Pierce Rohlman is a STUD. But I also felt like Dixie relied too heavily on him on offense - particularly for his being a two-way player. I know he played at least the entire first half on defense, but I'm not sure about the second half.

They did. And my gosh, Evan Wibberly was a problem all night for Cov Cath's O-Line.

From what I’ve heard, a night out for some of these seniors is hanging out at one of their houses and lifting. That’s what they do for fun.

From what I’ve seen so far, it’s been play calling. It’s the same thing each week. It’s the same 2 players running routes and always on the outside. There’s nothing over the middle. There are too many weapons standing on the sidelines not getting touches and helping the offense.

Wibberly is a problem for everyone. ?

They are big and muscular at pretty much every position. They are not missing time in the weight room.

Couple thoughts:

1: Aiden Jones back makes a big difference defensively. I thought he stood out tonight along with Agee again and Dietz was getting after it in the run game up front. The 2 guys in the middle (AJ and Sullivan) make it difficult to run against for most teams.

2. We did just enough offensively. We still struggle to consistently throw the ball, but Holtz did have a couple nice balls tonight. We’re not going to be good enough on this side of the ball to put up a lot of points, so we’re going to have to win these types of games. Moving forward, Agee just has to get the ball more, he’s the best player with the ball in his hands on the team.

3. I think Dixie is a good team. Like someone else mentioned, they look physically mature and have some really good top end players. #8 Rice is going to be a handful the next few years. Big time player already as a soph. I liked their top receiver too. A really nice win for us and a big time performance by the defense.

Special teams was much improved for sure. The passing game, or lack there of, is going to be an issue against the better teams we play, especially those that can stop the run. We’ve got matchups we should be able to take advantage of in the passing game; Agee and Zion, the TE’s, Sullivan and Wilson, we just cant seem to get the ball to them consistently when they are open.

Good win. I would like to see  some more throws to the middle of the field and getting our explosive receivers the ball in some space to work with. Holtz has some awesome throws each game and our offense is improving, but we still have work to do on that front. Agee coming in as QB at times also helps us change things up, and lets us keep the defense honest on both his and Holtz's skillset. And I think its about getting this offense into a flow.

We bent a bit on defense but didnt break, unlike last week. Also had some spectacular defensive plays. Were very stout and had better coverage on the deep balls than our earlier games.

All in all, I'm pleased with our performance. Huge game next week.
