I forget which game it was, maybe Paintsville and Beechwood, same thing, the coaches were standing down at the 10 yard line coaching.  What is the rule?

You got to love these comments. Lol, CCH played Elder and Lex Cath. Again, Elder at the PIT!  They had a 2 touchdown lead  on an undefeated team while decent  in the first half. Oh, and loosing there

  • This song always reminds me of being at LexCath games: Of course it also reminds me of a great scene in Battleship.

  • If they played again next week I would take CovCath.

The Knights' offense had 12 plays for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns within 5 min 58 sec in the 4th quarter.

Ouch is an accurate description. I thought we were the better team by a decent margin the first 3.5 quarters and then just ran out of gas. Credit to the LC players and staff, they kept fighting and deserved the W.

I just had an assistant coach tweet at me that the coaches box now goes to the 10 yard line. It used to be either the 25 to 25 or the 30 to 30 yard line.

I didn't know that. Anyone know when that was instituted? And why it's really necessary?

Thanks for that.

Whatever it is, it should be strictly enforced.

2020

2020 FOOTBALL RULE MODIFICATIONS
In support of the NFHS Guidance for Opening Up High School Athletics and Activities,
the NFHS Football Editorial Committee offers this document for state associations to consider
whether any possible rules could be altered for the 2020 football season. The modifications
outlined in this document are meant to decrease potential exposure to respiratory droplets by
encouraging social distancing, limiting participation in administrative tasks to essential
personnel and allowing for appropriate protective equipment.

1. Team Box (Rule 1-2-3g)
• The team (players only) box will be extended on both sides of the field
to the 10-yard lines, (coaches will continue to be restricted from 25 to
25-yard lines), in order for more social-distancing space for teams.

COVID changes it to the ten yard line to space the players out

The sideline box for teams is once again ten yard line to ten yard line like last year.

A couple of positives:

1. I thought Preston Agee played a great game. Such an explosive athlete, not sure on the stats, but he was at QB the 2nd half and is a big time playmaker with the ball in his hands. Not sure what we’re doing at the position moving forward, but he needs to have the most touches every game from our skill guys. On his 80 yard TD he was shot out of a cannon.

2. Zion Mason is as good of a corner as we’ve had at CCH for a while now. His pick 6 was an incredible play. He’s a dynamite player with special movement skills, I can’t imagine too many teams will throw his way moving forward.

3. I thought we were really able to generate some movement on the LOS running the ball. This is especially so with when we go 2 TE sets with Wilson and Sullivan. I also thought we played pretty well on defense the first 3.5 quarters and gang tackled well.

Well I should have read that closer.

Players only to the 10.  Coaches still supposed to be restricted to 25.

As clarified above by @Bluegrasscard, the players are permitted from the 10 to 10. Coaches are still restricted from going outside of the box formed by the 25 and the 25.

And to my greater point....that "incomplete pass" where the the receiver caught the ball, turned, and ran for another 5 or 6 yards before he bobbled it and dropped it...

Looks like Chinese Checkers to me.

Negatives would be we just really struggle to throw the football. It’s going to be tough to win games against good teams when you’re one dimensional on offense. We’ve got 2 good teams coming up the next 2 weeks, so there’s not a ton of time to figure it out.

The other negative was being gassed and not tackling in the last 6 minutes of the game on defense. I thought we played well up until that point but you do all that conditioning work for a reason. Not to be cliche, but you need to play a full 4 quarters to beat good teams. LC just gashed us that last half of the 4th and that was with their best player (#8) out.
