According to the almighty RPI, Bryan Station was the 3rd best team in 6A last year and Dixie Heights was the 12th best team ?  Of course North Hardin, Bryan Station and Henderson County were all better than Male last year according to the RPI as well ?‍♂️  Much like everything else, this will all get figured out in the end with 2 of the 3 (Trinity, St. X & Male) playing for the 6A state title and unless the RPi messes things up, it will just be a question of which team gets to be the 4th semi-finalist and lose to one of those 3.

You kind of said it all when it comes to the KHSAA RPI. It is flawed. The strength of schedule formula is not good. If you look at a really good strength of schedule formula on calpreps.com, Dixie's schedule was much stronger than Bryan Station's.

Station will be a better team this year, no doubt. I agree Dixie had a tougher road to hoe to get to Trinity last season. Traveling to Corbin, taking Cov Cath to the wire, and handled Beechwood. Then navigating two physical playoff games in a tough district. They limped into trinity with a few injuries (part of the game), and no special teams to speak of. This season, if they stay healthy, Dixie will be a top 5. They bring back almost the exact same team, with special teams, and a better O-Line IMO. Taking it a step further, Ryle should be in the conversation for top ten. The District 6 winner will have ran a gauntlet to get deep in the playoffs.

Daviess County makes an appearance after a 30-0 defeat of Meade County.  QB Humphries is dual-threat, great speed and solid arm.  DC is missing their RB Parm who is out for a prolonged period with an injury sustained I believe in scrimmages.  Last year DC could put up points on anyone, but had no defense.  Is that corrected now, or was Meade fools gold?

You can't pound your chest about a tougher schedule when you lost to everyone who made your schedule more challenging.

For the purposes of this thread, all roads are going through the usual suspects in Louisville. After those three, its a roll of the dice really. Might be a couple teams that would make it interesting, but there isn't many.

Dixie beat Beechwood who was better than anyone Bryan Station beat. Dixie also beat Ryle in the playoffs who was comparable to the Dunbar team Bryan Station lost to in the playoffs.
