Sources told Yahoo Sports on Friday that Ewers has informed Buckeyes officials that he intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Ewers is expected to consider Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech for his next school, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Ewers enrolled early at Ohio State and became an unintentional trailblazer. He made well over $1 million in name, image and likeness money by leaving high school early and signing deals, which included memorabilia and a kombucha company.

He signed a multi year deal, he may not have gotten that money up front. I'll be curious if the deal with kombucha goes with him elsewhere. 

Can confirm through multiple sources that Quinn Ewers had NIL provisions requiring him to start a certain number of games next season, and he asked for a guarantee that would happen.  Apparently his request was denied.

It makes sense that provisions like that are in a NIL deal. Very smart move by the people putting the money up.

They can promise the world and if the kid isn't a star they are off the hook for the money.

Now Ewers’ agent is saying these provisions were removed.  Still, I wish him the best going forward.

He played in pretty much every game but wasn’t a starter.  

RB Miyan Williams might also be on his way out of OSU... Was apparently at the UC game last night and spotted going in the UC locker room after. 

Not sure if it's true or not but if he is still apart of OSU's roster and intends to play in their bowl game, that's not a great look for anyone involved. Although I'm sure it would be a situation where it's stated "just catching up with friends on an off week." @John Anthony

I haven’t heard anything that’s likely good news for OSU.  He was very unhappy this season and they hid that well.  He came back and played though, that was the key.  Who knows in this day and age.  OSU just lost a kid to Texas over a booster writing a check to get him.  That’s what OSU is talking about today, telling the admin they need the ability to do the same.

They do need the ability to do the same, but Ewers was going to end up back in Texas from the get go.

As far as Ewers, that really doesn't surprise me. He would have stayed in Texas if he were allowed to profit off his NIL while in high school.

I agree.  I don't think he ever planned on staying in Columbus.  Not unless Day handed him the starting job.

Regarding NIL money, pretty sure I read that basing that money on playing time was not allowed.  I've heard that rumor about Ewers but I'm not sure it's true.

I’ve heard a few people in Columbus might be forming an NIL fund.  I’m telling you in a few short years, unless you can pay nearly every starter a salary, you are going to be a second class program. I’ve had people ask me how much I’d donate annually to player salaries.  We won’t recognize CFB by the end of the decade unless they find a way to control NIL.

Alabama picked up a 5 star corner and and a 5 star RB transfer this week.  We’re living in a day and age where Papa John could call Will Levis and offer him a million dollars to come to UL next year.

I agree things are quickly going to get out of control.

I assume it won't be long for we have professional college football and then plain old scholarship college football. 

Also, the players are going to need a college players union.  

Looks like the NCAA is going to try to rein some of this craziness in. We'll see how that goes and how quickly boosters will find a way around the new rules. It sounds like these booster collectives may already be against the rules. 

I don't know how they can differentiate between legit business deals with players and booster pay for play...that seems impossible.
