Titles in multiple classes

Featured Replies

I know Highlands has won in 4 classes and Boyle, Male, Trinity, St. X and Danville have won in 3 classes.  Is there any other teams that have won in 3 different classes?  Did Bowling Green or Cov Cath?  Mayfield has never played above 2A have they? I couldn't find the khsaa listing other than the year by year and didn't feel like going through every year.  Not urgent, just talking with a couple of friends and we couldn't remember all of them.

CovCath has won in 3A and 5A.   I also believe Beechwood and Newport Catholic have both won in 1 and 2A.

I think Paducah Tilghman won in 2 different classes.

Belfry has two titles in 2A and the rest in 3A.

Bardstown (1A & 2A), Ashland (2A & 3A), Bell County (3A & 4A), Louisville Central (3A & 4A), Franklin-Simpson (3A & 4A), South Warren (4A & 5A).

These are the ones who stand out to me... may  be more in the smaller classes especially.

Teams with most championships in a single class is a tie between Trinity and Beechwood. Trinity with 14 titles in 4A and Beechwood with 14 in 1A. That tie should last a while with both teams playing in a different class now.

When Trinity won those titles 3A and 4A, weren't those Kentucky's largest class for football? If so, in reality all their titles were won in the State's largest class but with just different numbers.

I disagree because all of Trinity's have been in KY's highest class at their time of play.

Good point!
