In an email sent out Monday by Principal Dan Ridder it stated that Brossart Athletic Director and Head Girls Basketball Coach Kevin Bundy has resigned to pursue other career opportunities.

Any idea on what the other career opportunities might be?  Also any ideas on who might be interested in this job?  Beau Menefee, Jeff Schaefer or his daughter Leah?  Gary Hunter?

@brooksville I can't locate this email through the link you provided. Can you post a dated copy for us to look at? The timing, and the phrase "has resigned to pursue other career opportunities," is being used to create some unnecessary drama in the Mason County hires Kevin Bundy thread.

Dear BBHS Community,

 

Last night Mr. Kevin Bundy informed me he is reassigning from his positions with Bishop Brossart.  Kevin, as you know, has been our athletic director and head girls' basketball coach for the past five years.  His successful tenure as coach was topped off this past season with claiming the 10th Region Championship and earning a trip to Rupp Arena's Sweet 16 Tournament.  It had been 20 years since that remarkable feat had occurred for BBHS.   This accomplishment also nailed down the 10th Region Coach of the Year Award.

 

As athletic director, Kevin also steered us through the pandemic times when there were constant changes that occurred with all our sports.  Despite KHSAA, CDC's, and diocesan restrictions, he strived to follow the guidelines and allow our athletes, parents and coaches to get the maximum experience possible.

 

Kevin is pursuing other career opportunities and offers.    His superb freelance writing skills may continue to be his path.  He acknowledged he had been contemplating this move, and my recent announcement weighed into the decision as well.  

 

We will work with Kevin on remaining details of the camp that is scheduled in two weeks so we continue with that this summer.  We will be able to provide further communications this week.  Please feel free to reach out to Kevin and thank him and wish him the very best on his new journey.

From Mustang's post and the article link below, it appears multiple opportunities presented themselves to Coach Bundy during a transitional time at Bishop Brossart.

Northern Kentucky Tribune - June 1, 2021

(Dan) Ridder recently announced that he was retiring as Brossart's principal. He said that influenced Bundy's decision to resign from both of his positions.

"(Bundy) acknowledged he had been contemplating this move, and my recent announcement weighed into the decision as well," Ridder said by email.

I hope they are able to find someone soon. There are a lot of good people and kids over there.

Bishop Brossart Announces New Girls’ Basketball Coach

Bishop Brossart High School is excited to announce Mr. Garren Parker as our new Head Girls Basketball Coach for the defending 10th Region Champions. Coach Parker previously coached the girls freshman team at Brossart during the 2020-21 school year. Prior to coaching at Brossart, Coach Parker spent several years coaching both boys and girls grade school and AAU teams. Coach Parker is looking forward to the upcoming season and trying to defend the 10th Region title.

Yes Bob Rowe is on staff. He was the Jv coach and asst. varsity coach last year as well. He is a big reason for Brossart's recent success.

Bob has a vested interested in the Lady Stangs hoops program.  His oldest daughter Jordyn was the senior point guard on last year's team, and his younger daughter, Bella, will be a junior this season.
