Let me get this straight. Montgomery Co is 7-1 and has beaten Powell, Menifee twice, Augusta, Bracken, Deming, and Paris. Some of these schools have some nice teams but Montgomery co has an enrollment close to 1200-1300. Will someone please explain to me why these schools continue to play Montgomery Co? Anyone?

Actually, this thread is not a knock on Mongmery Co, Bart Rison does a good job, but why do all these class A schools play Montogmery Co 2-3 times a year?

I don't know, I went to MCHS and I think it is crazy that they play such an easy schedule. I think it is more important to get your team ready for the region than to win 20 games, but obviously that is not how some people at Mongtomery feel.

Maybe they should take a look at the girls schedule. That one seems to be loaded from top to bottom. The lady Indians could have a good season and barely be over .500!!!

Update to the original thread starter: The record is now 8-1. Add Bath Co to the list of victims.

Their loss is to GRC which was a district game.

Check out their schedule in past years. Its always this way.

As far as Bart is concerned, when they put him in the ground and throw dirt on him he is going to be remembered by his record. That is pretty doggone good even though its a weak, weak schedule.

He is a very good basketball coach and he has been consistent over the years, something that is very hard to do. He may be one of the better coaches anywhere. My question is; If Montgomery Co has been that good that long, why do these class A schools play them EVERY year sometimes 2-3 times a year?

Because they want to, I guess. It is hard to believe though that a school, Montgomery, plays small schools like Deming.

What constitutes a great coach? 20 win seasons or Championships? Not trying to start anything by any means. I'm am just curious in the point of view. Credible arguments could be made for both. Montgomery Co. just has 20 win seasons with a lonesome Regional Title in 95'.

Does Montgomery split the gate with anyone? Do they ever leave home?

My question is, why does Montgomery County want to play all these Class A size schools, rather than ask why they choose to play the Indians.

Looks like Coach Rison would want to play more challenging competition to get his team better prepared for the post-season. One success story there (regional title 1995) is not enough for a 4-A size school.
