Reds vs. Indians (4/16 - 4/18)

Featured Replies

Not going to wait until the last minute to see a thread started for this one.  Got to get some good vibes going early for the showdown versus the Tribe.

Pitching probables:

Friday:  Jeff Hoffman (1-1, 3.86) vs. Logan Allen (1-1, 2.70)

Saturday:  Sonny Gray (making his season debut) vs. Triston McKenzie (0-0, 4.70)

Sunday:  Wade Miley (2-0, 0.00) vs. TBD

Sunday would typically be Shane Bieber's turn in the rotation.  Don't know if they're waiting to see how he feels, after going 9 innings Tuesday night in Chicago.  Reds could catch a huge break if they decide to push him back a day for some extra rest.

Reds usually don't do very well against TBD.

Time to end this mini-slump.....one of my staff is located in Cleveland.    Can't lose this series.....I've already thrown down the gauntlet....  ?

I'm having dinner with him Tuesday..... ?

Reds up 7-1 in the 4th but the Indians are threatening.

Votto with another opposite field HR.

Perez makes me nervous every time he comes into a game right now.  He's definitely a guy you want throwing a strike on the first pitch.

Bats sure were hot last night!

After seeing the recap this morning,  the thing that I liked was the first 5 runs were scored on something other than a home run. This team (especially Suarez) needs to realize you can score by just putting the ball in play and being aggressive on the base paths.

Hitting to all fields was supposed to be the primary focal point for the hitters this season. Two of Votto's HR's have been to the opposite field.

Hit, hit, hit.

Ugh!!!  Barry Larkin in unbearable.

No Barry it was a perfect throw to third.  Farmer blew it.

Unfortunately I work at my computer with my back to the TV and am forced to listen to these homers.

Reds were down to their last out, and mount a rally to tie things up in the 9th, thanks to a single by Winker. Then Stephenson with a pinch hit single in the 10th walks it off for the win.

That was a fun win. Shades of poor Bill Buckner as the 1B lets the final out of the game go between the wickets. To their credit, the Reds make them pay for it.

Add in the triple play by the Reds in the 8th. Fun one.

That was a fun game to watch.  The triple play was definitely the catalyst for the come back win.
