We saw what happened with the Diamondbacks when we started a thread late.  Hopefully the Reds can get their West Coast trip turned back in the right direction tonight.

Both teams are sitting at 6-3.

Need to get some of that swagger back.  Will they catch Cueto in the rotation this time?

Unless something changes, it looks like they will face him on Wednesday.

So, that'd be Castillo going for us then, right?  That could be a good one to watch.  (If I only could.)

I thought they said during the Reds game Sunday that the Reds will not face Cueto in this series.

ESPN has the following pitching match-ups:

4/12 9:45 p.m. ET - Miley (1-0) vs Sanchez (0-0)

4/13 9:45 p.m. ET - Castillo (1-1) vs. Gausman (0-0)

4/14 3:45 p.m. ET - Mahle (1-0) vs. Cueto (1-0)

I'm not sure.  I pulled my information off of their website: image.png.68da771bff04ca9f6143eba64285db2b.png

That is what Welsh said. Then shortly after that, maybe the next half inning he corrected himself. He actually came out said he was wrong, something the media (and weatherman) NEVER admit. He clarified by saying we would see him on Wednesday.

The more I've thought about it, the more it's not going to be a "reunion" type of matchup anyway.  Votto is the only starter remaining from Cueto's last year in town (2015).  Tucker, Suarez and Lorenzen were the only other ones on the team at the time.

Guess it will be somewhat of a reunion, as Disco and Casalli both signed with the Giants this past offseason.

Impressive win for the Reds in the series opener. Great pitching out of Miley for 5, backed by 3.2 innings by Antone then Sims coming on to get the last out. Votto crushing the ball all year finally gets positive results with a HR in the bay - the first ever by a Reds player. Winker with a 2 run homer. Reds win 3-0 on a 2 hit shutout.

While it's nice to score 6, 8, 11 runs in a game, in all honesty, I think being able to win a low scoring game like this is huge, in this team's development.  Good bounce back after the way things ended in the desert.  Been really impressed by what Antone has brought to the table the past year or so.  And, hopefully Miley will be able to stay healthy for the entire season.
