Does this mean that the number 2 team in 9th region really is the mix of like six teams?

It's more than one, but I don't believe there are 6 in the mix.

Any stats?

Cov Cath

Highlands

St Henry

Beechwood.

And yes, I know the irony that both teams beat Highlands, but the birds have better wins and no bad losses.

Beechwood is not a top 4 team. Been beaten by Conner and Holy Cross. They are too inconsistent to be in the top 5. The talent is there, but not enough teamwork in my opinion. I don't disagree with the Highlands and St. Henry though. I just think that the teams behind Cov Cath on any given night can beat each other. This list includes; Conner, Dixie, Holy Cross. All of which has beaten or been beaten by another team listed. Only team that is truly separated is Cov Cath.

Cov Cath, Highlands, St. Henry  then the next 4-6 teams could flip a coin.  I think Beechwood and Holy Cross are a lot the same rely on 1-2 players.

Getting back to the game....

Great win for Gallatin County!!!!    Yet again proof that Coach Jones is not the guy you want to see in a tournament situation (1 game).

Gallatin has been playing better and better of late.   This is another big step forward - and a huge warning to the rest of the 31st district!

Congrats, Cats!

It's so bizarre. GC lost to Ludlow this season back in late January, and now they beat the Beechwood Tigers. Go figure.

Started 1-5 with 4 losses by a total of 9 points, including a 5 point loss to 8th Region contender Spencer County.. The Cats had Jarin Rassman as their safety net last year, so it took a few games for the team to start figuring things out and learning new roles without the benefit of the usual practice schedule.

Draud led Beechwood with 33. Boyd had 17 and Downton 14.                                           Dickerson with 20 for Gallatin. Johnson and Skidmore had 14 apiece and Gullion added 10.
The Wildcats hit 61% from the floor and 3 point range (11-18). Gallatin out rebounded the much taller Tigers 22-16.

That should read Terrell with 14. Skidmore with 9.
