HammerTime
Face facts... Some of you guys will hate on the NBA and call it the thug league no matter what happens. Disregard the fact that fights happen in MLB, NFL, and NHL all you want... It only happens in the NBA because they are all thug criminals, right? When they do something right, you'll never comment... You'll steer completely clear of that thread, but the second somebody screws up you're ready to attack them for being overpaid thugs. And what do concealed weapons have to do with this? Did Channing Frye pull a gun or something and nobody tell me? It was a fight... They happen... Doesn't mean these guys are any worse than those MLB players that get a free pass because for some reason we expect them to fight and support them when they do. :thumb: :thumb: Got to love those NBA haters. Covercorner
I think the fact that NBA players are the least "clothed" in uniform of the four major sports, that it allows the viewers to see more of what they like or don't like. You can see more tattoos on NBA players, and many people associate that with thug behavior, right or wrong. The NBA is the only major sport where during play, headgear or a face mask or shield is not worn, so dreads or Cornrows are more readily seen (except for those NFL Db's;) ) and many people associate certian hairstyles with thug behavior. UKMustangFan
Dwayne Wade was named Sportsman of the Year in part because of his charity work. Too bad he's a thug, because he plays in the League.

People hate the NBA because of the uniforms??? Right..... So they need to go to long sleeves and pants and everything will be fine?
mcpapa
People hate the NBA because of the uniforms??? Right..... So they need to go to long sleeves and pants and everything will be fine? It would be pretty interesting if, like baseball, NBA coaches had to wear the same uniform as the players. Who gets the vote as the coach you'd least like to see in an NBA uni? No, but since many have made the point that NBA players don't relate to the normal fan, doesn't it make sense with human nature that people gravitate to others like themselves. The probability that the average NBA fan, and for sure the average NBA ticket buyer, does not have multiple tattoos or cornrows can make a difference. There is more opportunity to see those differences, and therefore more chances to scruitinize them.

Yes fights happen in the NHL just about every game. Thats why there are rules governing the fighting procedure. When someone breaks those rules they are severly punished. Take Todd Betuzzi for example.... he sucker punched Steve Moore and was suspended for an entire season and was taken to court.

I'm pretty certain that I never said that there should be no punishment, because TRUST ME... There should be... I hope 'Melo gets a big suspension, and I know that he will. Still doesn't justify calling NBA players thugs over anyone else.

HammerTime
This whole situation might be a little deep than we think. In reality it might have been Geroge Karls fault.:sssh: Trying to run up the score on the team that fired his good friend Larry Brown????
