NineOh
Isiah Thomas warned Carmelo...."wouldnt be a good idea to go to he basket"....that is what he told Carmelo before the incident happened This doesn't give him the green light to have one of his players mug a Nugget and not expect the opposition to retaliate. This whole thing has been blown out of proportion and any Knick who suffered deserves it.
pthsfan
I'm pretty certain that I never said that there should be no punishment, because TRUST ME... There should be... I hope 'Melo gets a big suspension, and I know that he will. Still doesn't justify calling NBA players thugs over anyone else. I think all 10 players who were out there should get a suspension. SOme more than others, such as melo. SInce fighting is not a part of the game in the NBA as it is in the NHL, they should all get fines and/or suspensions/
ladiesbballcoach
From Lance... For all the crap the NBA gets for image and behavior.........exactly what is America's passtime......the NFL......offering up this year? 35+ arrests, 8 arrested on one team, players flipping off fans, steroid suspensions, players spitting in players faces, players sluring other players....... What was Collinsworth's comment on Sunday night about Billick's speech to his team after they clinched a playoff spot? CC said Billick was telling them to not go and do what the Bengals would do. If Stern is true on wanting to clean up the NBA's act, Anthony doesn't play till MINIMUM after the All-Star game.
cshs81
If Stern is true on wanting to clean up the NBA's act, Anthony doesn't play till MINIMUM after the All-Star game. Crazy talk. No chance in heck of that happening nor should it. Sit him down for 4 games and be done with it. Fighting in the NBA is not a problem . Let this die and everyone will move onto other things. Suspend him until afte the all-star game and everyone talks about the supposed fighting problem in the NBA for 3 months. Not good PR especially when there is not a problem. cshs81
If I'm the commish, here's the order of blame I place: 1. Isaiah Thomas 2. Mandy Collins 3. Smith 4. Nate Robinson 5. Jeffries/Carmelo

cshs81
1. George Karl 2. Isaiah Thomas 3. Collins 4. Smith/Robinson/Melo 5. Jrffries Here's why I think J Jeffries is as culpable as Melo. You cannot expect a guy to have another guy put a chokehold on him and then have him not be upset and want to fight.

IAmAFan
Just like every other sport. There are 5+ fights a year in baseball. But for some reason the NBA is a bunch over paid thugs??? It happens in every sport. People are just making an example out of it because you guys don't like the NBA. I was reading these comments thinking that everyone on here was crazy. Good post my man. For some reason in baseball it's "part of the game" yet in basketball it's a criminal thug act.
