10 players ejected in Knicks/Nuggets brawl!

Carmelo's punch was not a sucker punch. Whoever he hit was sitting there jawing to him and under those circumstances, where punches have already been thrown, you better be ready to defend yourself. Also, I don't buy the "their starters shouldn't be in and they shouldn't be dunking" B.S. It's the NBA, not a 5th grade recreational league. That's just a weak excuse for having a pitiful team and handling it the wrong way.

Him and Jeffries were not jawing. Melo walked up from behind someone and sucker punched him.

1) Melo didn't hit Jeffries, it was Collins, and yes Collins was jawing at him.

2) Nate Robinson started the entire thing. Smith was being held back, and little gangsta wannabe starts running his mouth and puts his fists up like he's ready to attack. As I said before they should've let Smith deal with that little punk.

You must've seen a different version than everyone. Go watch it, Collins is talking noise to Melo who then hits him. Not a sucker punch.

Just like every other sport. There are 5+ fights a year in baseball. But for some reason the NBA is a bunch over paid thugs??? It happens in every sport. People are just making an example out of it because you guys don't like the NBA.

Exactly, just look at 00Rocket28's avatar. (post #25)

You got anything better than that.

If the NBA wasn't such a thug sport then they wouldn't have lower ratings and fan support than other sports because nobody can relate to the players on the court. I'm sorry, but most people can't relate to players who carry concealed weapons around (which it has been reported that 80-90% of the NBA does so) and throw sucker punches and don't care about much else than themselves and their money.

Sounds like the biggest stereotype I have ever heard because the media has brain washed people into believing that. They are just like every other Pro sport. How many NBA players have been arrested this year compared to the NFL??? How many fights are there in MLB than in the NBA? I do not believe for one second 80-90% of them carry guns.

I've heard this about some NASCAR drivers.

It's funny because Outside the Lines just did a show about a week ago about athletes that carry concealed weapons.....They said that over 90% of the NFL players have them....  I guess we all know that those NFL players are saints though and never get into trouble....

I don't see the big deal to be honest. Fights sometimes happen. I hope Collins learned a lesson. You can't be jawing with a guy who is walking at you and keep your hands down.

I also don't have a problem with Robinson. He was backing up his teammate. Nothing wrong with that. It looked like to me that no one wanted much of him.

This is such a rare occurence in the NBA anymore that when it happens, it gets blown out of proportion. This was common in the 70s and 80s. I don't look at this as a "problem" for the league.

Face facts...

Some of you guys will hate on the NBA and call it the thug league no matter what happens. Disregard the fact that fights happen in MLB, NFL, and NHL all you want... It only happens in the NBA because they are all thug criminals, right? When they do something right, you'll never comment... You'll steer completely clear of that thread, but the second somebody screws up you're ready to attack them for being overpaid thugs.

And what do concealed weapons have to do with this? Did Channing Frye pull a gun or something and nobody tell me? It was a fight... They happen... Doesn't mean these guys are any worse than those MLB players that get a free pass because for some reason we expect them to fight and support them when they do.
