Covington Catholic 70 Male 58

Final in Park Hills.

Starks with a GREAT game for Cov Cath. Colin McHale with a great supporting performance.

Male will be a different team in a few more weeks. No question.

Great win for Colonels! I have no doubt Male will improve as get more games under their belt. Good game experience for both teams.

Statement win for CovCath. This game was under control early in the 3rd. Hopefully they will move into the Top 7-8 in the next BGP poll.

The Colonels move to 4-1 against the current BGP Top 20, along with other quality wins against Lou St X & Trinity.  They have four remaining games scheduled against current Top 20, with that count likely to expand in the post season.

Great work by the AD, Tony Baciagalupo!

Cov Cath is very good, had size and disciplined. Going to be a tough out for anyone. On a side note, they do have one fan, that might be a big sister of a player, that is super annoying and yelled the entire game about calls. I guess we all have that one fan but in quiet gyms these days make in unbearable!

I remember her yelling. Lol. Like you said, every fanbase has people like that.

I was impressed by Cam Pope. That guy is a tough matchup at the high school level.

I know that you’re just being kind, but every team having one doesn’t make it any less classless. It’s downright annoying, but at least now we can mumble our displeasure through our masks without anyone seeing our lips move. Sure, it won’t change anything ‘cause nothing makes these types shut their pie hole, but at least a fan can vent without too much proof of who did so.

I was at a game once with that fan sitting behind me. It was already way too much by the start of the second quarter. Early in the second quarter he yelled on a call. I turned around, looked right at him and calmly and politely said, "Are you going to yell on every single call that is made in this game? Every call?" I then turned back around and it was much better the rest of the game. I know, I was fortunate that fan did a self check and was considerate the rest of the game. I thanked him at the end of the game.
